Liberal Party of Nebraska Joins Liberal Party USA as Ninth State Affiliate [new Libertarian Party forming]
Independent Political Report ^ | July 26, 2024 | Jordan Willow Evans

The Liberal Party of Nebraska became the ninth official affiliate of the Liberal Party USA last month, according to an announcement from the state organization made via social media.

According to a map of state affiliates maintained on the Liberal Party USA website, a ninth state has been added since the national party announced at the beginning of June that it was planning a convention. Additionally, available information on the Liberal Party of Nebraska indicates that the organization went public in the second half of June. Later that same month, it announced it had officially become an affiliate of the national party.

“It’s official! Thank you to [the Liberal Party USA] for helping us form a new political home in Nebraska! We look forward to welcoming more state affiliates across the country in the coming months and giving voters more choices in upcoming elections,” the party wrote.

The Liberal Party USA initially emerged from dissatisfaction with party leadership of the Libertarian Party over the past two years. It originally operated under the name of the Association of Liberty State Parties before formally rebranding. The party has indicated that it intends to seek ballot access and competitively field candidates in the future...

Nebraska joins Massachusetts, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Utah, Oregon, Missouri, and Wyoming in having a Liberal Party USA affiliate. It’s worth noting that not every state organization uses the Liberal Party name or branding, nor do all state affiliates have ballot access, including the Nebraska state affiliate.

Libertarians have always been liberal. No surprise there.

Correct!

I THINK these are just “light conservatives” who for years thought they were members of the so called Democratic Party.

But, in recent years, they found themselves at “parties” where the room was full of avowed communists, pre birth, post birth and ANY OLD TIME baby killers, America Haters, illegal aliens, gender affirming parents, lesbians, pedofiles, homosexual men, trannies, athiests and the general human debris that has populated the human race for centuries.

They mean classical liberal. These are the more reasonable libertarians.

Maybe they could nominate the ticket the Libertarian Party of Tennessee put up instead of the LP national ticket.

Actually, no. This breakaway party are the leftists who think that, despite Oliver's nomination, the current LP is too far to the right for inviting Trump.

Oliver won the nomination, but the Mises Caucus (who invited Trump) won most of the LNC offices.

Then they should be fully behind Oliver. He's one of those people. That's why roughly 3/7 of the LP delegates voted for None of the Above instead of him. (That, and the backroom deal between Oliver and ter Maat.)

Both teh Virginia and Pennsylvania affiliates (the Classical Liberal Party of Virginia and what was the Keystone Party in Pennsylvania) emphasize classical liberalism.

This new Liberal Party was already forming before the Libertarian National Convention. They're pleased with Oliver, but see his nomination as too little, too late. Especially since the national convention also elected Mises Caucus (anti-Oliver) members to most of its leadership positions.

The Tennessee LP which dumped Oliver also opposes the Liberal Party and continues to support the national Libertarian Party.

The Libertarians are fracturing, much like past socialist parties.

According to them, that's not correct. I read their website.

National LP is behind Oliver, to the point that when the New Mexico Libertarian Party decided to endorse someone else, they petitioned something called the Free New Mexico Party onto the ballot with Oliver-ter Maat as its ticket.

From what I’ve read, the National LP is dragging its feet in supporting Oliver. The LNC feels legally obligated to support Oliver, but their heart’s not in it.

They made a special effort to make sure Oliver got on the ballot in New Mexico after the state LP disaffiliated and endorsed a different ticket.
