Other than the number of shell casings observed initially, I’m curious about 2 things.

First how did the rifle end up so far away from Crooks?

Second, any idea what those 2 objects are that are downslope - near the stream of blood? Almost looks like a shoe or a pair of shoes.

Probably moved to keep it out of the way of all the people who were concentrating on the body. Likely waiting on the forensics guys to bag & tag it.

1, the spasm on death (least likely).
2, there are already people up on the roof, and their first job would be to see that the shooter was confirmed as disarmed.
3, there are people walking around the scene and that is a key piece of evidence you don’t want stepped on, so it is moved further away after 1 and 2.
