That said, as the EU is shutting off Hungary’s oil supply, perhaps Hungary should turn off all their electricity they generate and export to the EU…,they can become like Ukraine, sitting in the dark wondering what went wrong.
Europe doing what it always does best: infighting...............
I think that you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.
Hungary is generally a net importer of electricity, with imports typically making up around 30% of consumption since the mid-2010s. In 2022, Hungary imported $5.34 billion worth of electricity, mainly from Slovakia, Romania, Austria, Croatia, and Serbia...
Not the powerhouse you believe it to be.
Hungary was allied with Poland when the conservatives ruled in Poland. They were the two “bad boys” of the EU opposed to the immigration quotas. Poland has been the strongest supporter of Ukraine in the EU. If Hungary is opposed to arming Ukraine, then its relationship with Poland suffers. The EU does try to bully member states to toe the EU line. Sanctions are threatened but rarely enforced.
Pushed straight into BRICS. The Hungarian People are very lucky.
