Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is mired in another scandal, as he floated the idea of endorsing Donald Trump's presidency in exchange for a future job at the White House, four sources told the Washington Post. According to the anonymous sources, Kennedy, the independent presidential candidate, hoped to manage a slate of health and medical issues.

While in Milwaukee, Trump and Kennedy discussed potential Cabinet jobs and other posts that don't require Senate confirmation. Kennedy raised the possibility of dropping his election bid and endorsing Trump, despite having publicly bashed him in the past.

Members of the Trump team, however, were concerned that the arrangement could cause thorny legal and optics issues. Not to mention, Kennedy is a well-documented vaccine skeptic, and some are worried that his stance could cause problems for the campaign.

Another article trashing RFK. Actually makes Trump look pretty good though.

Would Trump gain any votes if RFK Jr. endorsed him?

Scandal? Sheesh, that’s how all governments work. The writer is an idiot to try to elevate this to scandal.

RFK takes votes away from Kamala. In any event, no reason to think that those votes are transferable to DJT.

If RFK could reach his goal by conforming to Trump’s outline,
why not give him a job. It takes him off the table and I”m
not certain he couldn’t affect some policy in a great way.

I just don’t want his communistic traits to become
pronounced.

Yeah, keep rfk Jr on. I think they’re just trying to peel his votes away.

RFK could never meet any such goal.

It’s not a “terrible” bargain. Rather reasonable.
I doubt if Trump would have been shocked by the idea.

That could be true.

He has come out with some reasoned ideas, but I always write
the guy off because I know the part he doesn’t advertise.

Yes, if structured carefully. Trump should not make any binding promises as to an appointment because that would be illegal. RFK would have use in one key respect: helping develop ways to prevent and to remedy civil rights violations by the federal government and to protect voting rights and against election theft.

This kind of pre election horse trading is often the way it’s done for a certain number of non critical positions.

RFK, Jr. becomes more of threat within the Dem party everyday. There must be millions of rank and file Dems who would never vote Trump but still recognize the danger posed by the current Dem Uke policy. I can see RFK, Jr. siphoning off many votes from whoever the eventual nominee is, providing they espouse the current Uke madness.
