Hossein Salami, the commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard, says that the plan to isolate Iran has been abandoned, and today "Israel and the US are the most isolated and hated in the world."
"Defending our country's borders today is not just about guarding the border. Blocking the border of the Islamic Republic of Iran means blocking the global policies of our enemies against Iran," he claimed.
He added that "Iran does not base its security on a narrow territorial margin but seeks to establish security across all borders of Islam, and this is a great task entrusted to the military forces. Iran's enemies are striving to gradually infiltrate Iran with a strategy and plan aimed at destabilizing the center of the country."
Salami also said that the Hamas attack on October 7th "left a historic global mark, leading to broad support for the Palestinians, and also to military mobilization against Israel, which, along with Iran's missile and drone attacks on Israel, will change the reality in the Middle East."
The commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard noted that "references to Iran in the speeches of the two US presidential candidates indicate the importance of Iran and its gradual transformation into a power, a development reflected in the ability to influence the shaping of reality...

Provide covert aid to the Balluchis, the Akhwazis, the Kurds and any other oppressed minorities, and there will be no need for nuclear bombs. Condition aid to the Akhwazis on accepting a quota of Palestinian “refugees”. With 80% of the Iranian oil wealth in Khuzestan, but a small population of Akhwazis, this would be win/win for everyone.

Careful with that boasting, Iran! It might not end as you hope.
Actually, it specifically applies to pre-emptive war, or as it was called then “diminishing the heathens” before they attack.
But, yes, you are correct that innocent lives should be spared, if possible. And one must be sure that the attack is truly coming.
Iran has made the seriousness of their intent quiet clear.
The loss of innocent lives is the only reason to pause and see if there are less drastic means available.
Aside from that, there is the national characteristics of Iran. They are not the “wild ass of a man” that Arabs are know to be. They are very deliberate in their thinking and action. If they have the bomb, they will use it to extort what they want from the oil sheikhdoms and deter the west from interfering. They won’t go to war against Israel directly, or nuke Israel outright, but they will use their proxies to atrit Israel over time, and use their nukes to deter the west from interfering in that.
I say let’s (Israelis) find our own proxies. Palestinians fester in refugee camps with nowhere to go. Ahwazis are being robbed of their oil-rich lands which Iran is using to mong wars everywhere, including in Israel. Help the Ahwazis get their land back, and provide a homeland for the stateless Palestinian “refugees,” and at the same time deprive Iran of their oil revenue, which they use to finance terror and war all over the world.
Ayatollah theocracy implodes, as it was doing under Trump, and the cultured, civilized Iranians get to come out of exile and hiding, and rebuild their ruined country into something to be proud of.
Nobody makes glass. Everyone’s happy, other than the Ayatollahs, who get what they deserve from the people they’ve oppressed and degraded for so long.

If they use them, they will be destroyed by the US and Europe, and Israel if it still exists. They know this, and are nobody’s fools. Just because they’re crazy doesn’t mean they’re stupid or have a death wish.
As you pointed out, they are far from stupid.
They will announce they have one without setting it off. They will want to be treated like they are at the “grown up table.”
It puts the world in a precarious position. It would be best to destroy their effort before that point.
I go a little easy on the rhetoric. there are many countries with biological weapon programs that don’t need to worry about evading patriot missiles or getting shot down. Technology wouldn’t be much help.
