I think they are conflicted. They could start binging out all the devastating stuff they have been sitting on but if it still does not work and he stays they will have shredded what is left of his viability. Right now even after all this he is still only down less than 5 points in the swing states. On the other hand many elements in the MSM want to knock him out. So they are conflicted.

You noticed that too? They did this when Ted Kennedy was brawling it out with Jimmy Carter. Only it wasn’t a bunch of hidden sources. Kennedy would go on brand new CNN and say worse things about Jimmy than Reagan would later. The next hour Robert Strauss would do his Texas drawl insulting Kennedy’s temperament and character. You could tell which one each media source was for by how they referred to each of them while reading or using passive voice. This is very rare.
