And that is factual. And Team Trump certainly knows this.
Unlike Senators from New Jersey, the President is not directly elected by voters, rather, he is indirectly appointed by State Legislatures who appoint the 535 members of the Electoral College (Congress granted itself 3 Electors in 1960).
Since all 50 State Legislatures, and Congress, at present use the method of citizens voting to appoint their Electors, it LOOKS like there is a thing in November called a "Presidential election", but it only LOOKS that way.
There are no "Presidential elections" in the Constitution, no "being on the ballot", no "running for President", no "nominations", no "calling states for...", and so forth.
Thus, if California votes for "Biden" when "Biden" is not "running", the California Legislature will simply appoint 53 Electors to vote for Newsom, or Whitmer, or Satan for that matter - all perfectly legal and Constitutional.

I agree with you about ‘sticking with Kamala’. Who will be #2 on the ticket?? I do not see a 2-woman ticket ... that would be a loss for sure, IMO. I do not see Kamala agreeing to run for mere VP - she will be running for President ... Mobama is not going to run for VP unless there are plans to ‘remove’ Kamala by ‘hook or crook’ shortly after inauguration day, should that ticket happen to win.
So again, WHO would be Kamala’s #2? Got to be ‘male’ & younger than most of the dinosaurs in the DemonRat party. Gavin is going for 2028 ... IMO, he won’t take the chance of losing as Kamala’s #2, nor do I think he would tolerate a position of #2 to the Cackling Kamala.
Talking to a relative about this & and their immediate answer was Pete Buttplug. There was some talk of running him for president earlier. I can see ol’ Pete in the #2 spot to Kamala. Woman of ‘color, gay guy who is a ‘mom’. DEI met ... merit, competence, etc. not a factor.
