I don't think she's the brightest bulb on the tree.   My first thought was that she knows everyone wants her gone, and she somehow feels she can redeem herself, by showing up in person, to make sure her underlings in the SS do their jobs right in protecting President Trump this time.   (Hands on approach.)

You can see it her eyes. She’s not a professional liar yet like the rest of the Dem DC sleezeballs. When hired she was probably told her job would be to change the SS’s hair to blue. She didn’t hire on for this. I bet she wishes she was back providing executive security for Chester Cheetah.
