I am a Christian and I believe others should be that, too. I also discourage mixed marriages of separate faiths.
I do not want an atheist, nor a non-Christian, as leader of our country. JD’s wife is not a leader, though.

I really don't care about their religion or none. Well, okay, I have an issue with the Islamic Cult, but I have hired and worked with many members of the Islamic Cult, and it is not an issue, and I would never discriminate.
A key is first whether they are not proselytizing. Religion is a personal matter. Keep it to yourself.
More important, whether they base it on religion or elsewhere, what are their moral values, their ethics, their practice of right and wrong?

I believe that religious faith is an intensely personal issue, not to be dictated by anybody else. What matters is how a person lives and acts.
I guess you would state that a Jewish person should never be a leader of our country. I think that’s a very ignorant and prejudiced idea.
