Knights’ check must’ve cleared.

Perhaps , but it may have been that they didn’t run around looking for any ladder but just tried to get on the roof as quickly as possible

And per the
Butler town manager I think there's some misconception about overall response. I can only speak for our officers transitioning from what was supposed to be a primary traffic control assistance to where it became … a suspicious person...Once the suspicious individual was identified as being in the vicinity of the building, our police, who were primarily assigned to traffic duty and traffic control, did … because of the proximity, move towards that building... one of our other police officers … literally boosted one of our [other officers] up high enough in the air to grab hold of the edge of the roof...and lost his grip, at which point he fell "approximately eight feet" to the ground and sprained his ankle, the township manager explainedThey weren't there to provide security or monitor the building. The Secret Service appears to have lied. The building and area were unmonitored. As traffic police who reacted to the threat I think they did a recent job.

Where was that mystery ladder? All those officers were carrying sidearms. Why didn’t they start shooting rounds into the ground or into the air when they were by the building if they couldn’t get a bead on the shooter. At least it would have alerted everyone in the area and may have distracted the shooter. After the perp pointed his gun at the officer, all present on the ground knew the guy on the roof was not a good guy.

But there is an access ladder for that building...no one pointed it out and it was more or less hidden by a large arborvitae. And I'm still betting it was a woman..Something just doesn't click...
If they were traffic cops than they more likely than not had no weapon.
