The parents of Donald Trump's would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks called the cops to say he was missing before the shooting, a bombshell new report claims
It follows another stunning development that the 20-year-old gunman was at the former president's rally three hours before opening fire and sparked the suspicions of the Secret Service because he was carrying a rangefinder used by hunters to take long shots.
Crooks' parents called law enforcement in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, to say they were concerned about their son's whereabouts, Fox News reported.
He climbed onto a roof and shot Trump and killed retired volunteer fire chief Corey Comperatore at the rally in Butler, 50 miles from his home.
Crooks told his boss that he needed the day off from work on Saturday and gave colleagues a final chilling message: That he would be back on Sunday. His father told law enforcement he assumed his son had gone to the shooting range at the The Clairton Sportsmen's Club to practice with his rifle and would be back by 1pm on Saturday, CNN reported.
But as time went on he grew more concerned and phoned local law enforcement.
At around 3pm on Saturday, Crooks was spotted at the rally's security screening area and tried to pass through metal detectors with the rangefinder, which is used by shooters to measure distance.
The device, which looks like a small pair of binoculars, would not have prevented him getting into the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, but did put him on law enforcement's radar.
The Secret Service watched him but lost track of Crooks when he left the secure area.

the AR 15 rifle that he carried may have been a tip off to why he needed a range finder.
Crook was observed making a phone call just before the shooting. He could have called his parents, thus his parents may have called police in response. Speculation on my part, but easy to verify from phone records.
...though at the range he was at, he really didnt need a range finder. Kind of an amatuer move to have and use it when inside of 200 yards. Bullet drop just isnt enough to be concerned about for a tactical kill shot at that range.
The final chilling message is that he would be back on Sunday? I’m not chilled at all.
You’d think someone carrying a range finder at a political campaign event shoulda warranted a chat with law enforcement.......unfreakingbelievable.

It was not an AR -15 it is being called an AR type rifle. Very confusing because no LE has actually identified the weapon.
Yeah he told his job he would not be coming in on Saturday because he had “Something very important to do” but that he would be back on Sunday..so he actually believed that he would be leaving that rally alive..that was his mindset..and how did he know about the rally in the first place..since he had zero social media presence according to the feds who never lie(Sarc) Trump announces his rallies on Truth Social and twitter..so if Crooks has no social media footprint how did he know..did he hear about it on the news?
Why would the parents be concerned that their son was missing? They know that he was up to something, and missing is not what they were concerned about.
No doubt, the parents were not Trump supporters, and their conversations at home are part of what ‘triggered’ their son to try to take Trump out. At 20, the son was mostly naive, and most of what he knows about life and politics comes from those around him, most specifically his parents. The son got his idea from his parents, and they knew ye was taking shooting classes with the dad’s rifle.
They’re not directly saying it, but they know what he was up to, and it wasn’t that he was missing.

Is it possible the police said this in a rush to deflect from the fact that non law enforcement people in the crowd ID’d Crooks. OR, even SS told them to say it?

Agreed, if they called the cops then they must have known he was up to something, because nobody calls the cops about a 20 year old unless they were missing for a day or something.
What happened to Crooks’ cell phone and “transmitter”? And what was on it? if the USSS has it, we will never know.
He was observed looking at his phone, I think. Maybe to check time or watch TV coverage of President Trump, as he didn't want to make a move until President Trump was in his planned line of fire.

The weapon is probably chinese. The thug gestapo uses them. The regime was responsible for the attack on Trump. They also killed an off duty police officer and critically wounded others. This failure to protect was intentional-they are not proving otherwise. They’re thumbing their noses at republicans. Mayorkis and Obama need to be investigated too.
He most likely texted them saying what he was going to do. But we'll never know, the secret service is covering this up.
