Donald Trump will not seek to remove Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell before the central banker’s term ends and would consider JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon for Treasury secretary if he won the Nov. 5 election, the former president told Bloomberg in an interview published on Tuesday.
JPMorgan declined to comment on Trump’s remarks. Powell’s term as chairman runs through Januray 2026, and his position as a Fed governor continues until 2028. The interview was conducted in late June, according to Bloomberg.
Trump said the Federal Reserve should abstain from cutting rates before the November elections in which the Republican presidential candidate faces Democratic President Biden.
Trump also said in the interview that he would reduce the corporate tax rate to as low as 15% and that he no longer plans to ban social media app TikTok.
In addition to targeting China for new tariffs of anywhere from 60% to 100%, he said he would impose a 10% across-the-board tariff on imports from other countries, citing complaints about foreign countries not buying enough US goods.

He is as Swamp & Oligarchy as it gets. What on earth?
Hopefully not.
Trump says “I’d consider it” about a lot of things. It could very well be a case of Trump simply being diplomatic.
Kudlow was never Treasury Secretary. He was Chair of the National Economic Council. By why bother to know this when you can just screech nonsense with a post.
Kudlow was not the Treasury Secretary. Mnuchin was. Additionally, I believe the Fed has a greater influence on monetary policy than the Treasury Secretary does. That’s not the way the Framers envisioned it, but there it is.
He is controlled opp, as you see by his repeated selection of Deep State personnel, but the best option we have to vote for. What you gonna do?
Thanks, free traitor Kulow was council, appreciate it.
You’re mistaken.
Trump had Goldman Sachs lackey Mnuchin for Treasury previously. The bankers come as close as anybody to running the country.
I don’t disagree with you on that.
END the FedReserve.
Period.
He’s not the preferred choice of many insiders, but he staffs things with their operatives anyway. Do you not understand how controlled opposition works? How factions work? Do you know the story of how the Federal Reserve Act got passed? Have you not noticed the phenomenon of the “uniparty”?
Dimon had some pretty good words to say after the attempt on Trump’s life.
Then what do you think I’m mistaken about?
The people who run the Federal Reserve and Goldman Sachs are the problem. Get rid of them and MAYBE America can be great again.
I prefer Steve Forbes.
We were a very prosperous country before they were created. They are a tool of globalization, corruption, and control. We don’t need them.
Dimon? As good as Trump is. He sometimes has a real learning problem.
