Tech entrepreneur and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is expected tonight to make the case for Donald Trump directly to Black voters, immigrants and young voters while framing former president as a candidate who can best unite the country, according to an excerpt of his prepared remarks shared with CNN by a Ramaswamy aide.
Ramaswamy, who ran against Trump in the Republican primary before dropping out and endorsing him in January, is expected to dedicate a portion of his remarks at the Republican National Convention to addressing groups of voters who traditionally support Democratic candidates.
Ramaswamy is expected to say to Black voters that Republicans will work to create “safe neighborhoods, clean streets, good jobs, a better life for your children, and a justice system that treats everyone equally.” The Republican Party will seek a fairer criminal justice system “regardless of your skin color or your political beliefs,” nodding to claims made by Ramaswamy and other Republicans that the justice system has been “weaponized” against Republicans, including Trump.
He’ll also speak directly to “every legal immigrant” and promise “the opportunity to secure a better life for your children in America,” while committing to illegal immigrants that they will be deported “not because you’re all bad people, but because you broke the law.”
The 38-year-old Ramaswamy is expected to encourage young voters to support Republicans as a way to “be a rebel” and stand out from their peers by “calling yourself a conservative.”
In his prepared remarks, Ramaswamy will also promote national unity even among those with strong political divisions, a common theme among Republican convention speakers in the wake of the attempted assassination of Trump on Saturday.

Dark brown skin might not be common ground after all. Indians and blacks, Indians and Hispanics, what fellow feeling is there besides not white? Which is not a good thing to foster.

Conservatives have gotten too theoretical for me in the last couple of decades.
Conservatives: free trade will save us.
I want to stop jobs from flowing overseas and bring them back to America.

We’re losing Western Culture to the melting pot. Preserving Western Culture should be out top priority.
I want realistic, common-sense solutions to actual problems plaguing the country.

It was the best speech of the convention so far. Trump should make him his press secretary. He is really sharp.
