BUTLER, Pa. — Law enforcement officers confirmed to ABC News the building where a gunman opened fire at a Pennsylvania rally for former President Donald Trump was the building being used as a staging area for a local police tactical team.
Moments before shots rang out, rallygoers noticed 20-year-old Thomas Crooks climbing onto the roof and warned two officers.
ABC News learned the building was the same building a local police tactical team was using as a staging area to watch over the crowd at the Butler Farm Show grounds.
It is unclear if the team was inside the building, which sources said had been swept before the rally. Investigators are still working to learn if the roof was locked down.
According to a source who spoke with ABC News, Crooks did not use a ladder to get access to the roof.
Officials said an officer was "vaulted" up to the roof after rallygoers called attention to Crooks, who then turned and aimed his gun at the officer.

More coverup. Why didn’t the SS immediately surround Trump and keep him secure during the three minutes before the assassin took the shot? People need to be prosecuted over this.

Any drive-by media reportage is suspect.
That’s why the snipers behind Trump didn’t immediately engage and the one looked rather shocked as he flinched back. Lack of communication is always a cause for disaster in military and law enforcement scenerios. No excuse if true and still a cluster-f.

My guess is an unseen and unheard helicopter dropped him off.
The same damned cops who were taking pictures of him on THEIR roof 30 minutes before he shot Trump? Wait, these guys are trying out for the Secret Service, right?
They weren’t on the roof because it was too hot? Somehow the shooter didn’t think so although he might be a tad warm now.

No visible hatches or stairway exits on the building. But others reported he jumped from roof to roof, so maybe he climbed onto another building that had roof access from the inside.
But he would have had to have knowledge of the building plans, quickly find the roof hatch, and defeat the lock on the roof hatch. I think access from the inside is unlikely. UNLESS he had inside help.
Also, if I worked at a company building that close to where Trump was holding a rally, I might have been at the office / plant that afternoon. How many employees were in the building?
A movie producer would dismiss a script of this entire saga as being entirely too unbelievable to produce.
When you look for answers to a mystery, you put together all the scraps of information and clues and then arrive at an obvious conclusion. After reading news bit after news bit on the number of screw-ups made by every LEO on site (and many of those off site as well), the most obvious answer is this it was a deliberate hit on Donald J. Trump orchestrated by more than just the guy who pulled the trigger. I don’t believe this was a lone wolf nor a plot between 2 or three people. Hell, there had to be dozens in on it.
All thwarted by President Trump turning his head slightly at just the right time. There was an angel sitting on his shoulder on Saturday.
