I don’t believe that for one second. SS don’t bend to the will of locals. If they do, something is terribly wrong. Otherwise, why even bother to have them and their ‘elite force on site?

Was there a miscommunication? The ROEs of the locals were apparently dictated by the SS. I can understand that the SS might want prior notice of any shots friendlies might take, but it does set up a potential for imperiling their primary charge. Keep in mind that we could be discussing this while funeral arrangements were being made for DJT, and who-knows-what else going on in the country. Riots? Potential martial law declaration?

It was a very close thing, save tor a quirk of fate, or an act of Divine Providence.

Also, this “elite force” was pretty bare-bones, I gather, with some of DJT’s usual people being siphoned off for Jill Biden’s appearance in Pittsburgh. There was certainly a number sufficient to surround DJT, but clearly there weren’t agents and SS snipers doing over-watch. Also, I don’t know if any of them drew weapons. How were they to know that the threat was ended? Certainly there have been no images such as from the attempt on President Reagan’s life.
