A professional hit attempt from that distance with something as small as a .22 rifle (based on what I’ve seen reported) seems unlikely.

A professional hit attempt from that distance with something as small as a .22 rifle (based on what I’ve seen reported) seems unlikely. It sounded quiet on TV but I blame audio compression, plus it's not like the mics would have picked up the full boom. I'll wait until we hear what kind of rifle the shooter had before believing it was a 22.

(2024 is going to be one for the history books, like 1939. And 2025 will be more so, like 1940-1945.)
