A professional hit attempt from that distance with something as small as a .22 rifle (based on what I’ve seen reported) seems unlikely.

A professional hit attempt from that distance with something as small as a .22 rifle (based on what I’ve seen reported) seems unlikely.

It sounded quiet on TV but I blame audio compression, plus it's not like the mics would have picked up the full boom. I'll wait until we hear what kind of rifle the shooter had before believing it was a 22.

I suspect it was more likely a .223. A little more “oomph”.
