"The choice will be very very good, it's going to be a great vice president, meaning a person that can do a fantastic job as president because you always have to think of that first and then second, somebody that helps you get elected, and there is nothing wrong with that." — President Donald Trump.
Reported by Alexis McAdams in an interview with President Trump. She's sharing this on Fox News Live today, around 2 p.m. Easter in the noon to 3 p.m. show.

Actually, if you look back at the discussions, even here on FR, it was well-recognized he had zero standing on his own, much like Harris for Biden. Pence shored up his evangelical support, VP CHOICES MATTER. If it had not been Pence or someone like him, I doubt Trump would have won in 2016.
There were discussion back that that he'd likely not follow Trump.

“Don’t be a fool dawg.”
Well, I have to admit, engaging with someone like you is tarnishing.

Can Youngkin deliver Virginia?
More than any other choice, but one has to ask, "Does he really need Virginia ?"
If he does, than the election is a lot closer than the battleground polls indicate. I think Rubio helps him with the electorate more than anyone else (not only with conservative Hispanics but as a prologue to how he insulted him in 2016 primary; it could be a redemptive look), but hate to see him out of the Senate although the seat should be safe for a Republican. Then there is the residency issue. Haley would have worked had she not gone antiTrump on us.

Short of picking a pedophile priest, Trump’s gonna win!
In any event it’s a choice we’re going to have to live with.
A truly Godly person (not someone who Jesus would spit-out) would ease my mind.
I don’t trust any of the named prospects except Carson!

Stefanik has no leadership experience, won't deliver New York or likely much. Plus, she and Cruz are needed in the Senate. Leave them there.
Donalds has no leadership and is complicated by being in Flordia.
Ramaswamy is a loser, not even mentioned much lately. He adds nothing, will lose the young vote since he has advocated taking the vote away from people under 25.

Rubio, Youngkin, Burgum work, but Rubio probably brings more votes.

I agree with you that Trump’s pick should be a woman. In fact I had Sanders and Gabbard on my list too along with Elise Stefanik. Had she not gotten embroiled in the dog killing controversy I would have put Kristi Noem in the running too.

I don’t know if cons did, but I certainly did denounce Pence’s selection on this forum at that time

“How will they expand the base?”
I am not excited about the top three, according to the media. However, no one votes for a president based on who his vice president is. I loathed Pence, but I voted for Trump anyway. Trump picked Pence to expand the base.
Tucker Carlson would be great. I like Tulsi Gabbard also. She is not a Christian, but I think it is better to have an honest whatever she and is patriotic, than a man professing to be Christian and is a Clinton, Bush, Obama, or a Biden trying desparately to destroy the nation.

I’m not so sure. I voted for Palin, not McCain.

I think Trump makes terrible choices and just wants a butt kissing backstop
Is that what you think? Perhaps you should go elsewhere and find a candidate that better suits your lack of awareness. I hear big mike is available.

Gabbard shouldn’t even be considered for VP for all the reasons you’ve written.
To: Mr. N. Wolfe
He has a history of bad appointments and endorsements.
What the frick are you freaks even doing here? Certainly you can find a site that better suits your level of stupidity.

Tulsi. I believe her redemption story. Only one I really don’t want is Burgum. Reminds me of Romney.

It will be Gabbard. I don't think so but I would be okay with her.
I'm hoping for Vic or Bryan Donald, both warriors. JD Vance is also acceptable.
Hard pass on ND guy whos name I don't even know. You can include little Marco on the no list as well.
