"The choice will be very very good, it's going to be a great vice president, meaning a person that can do a fantastic job as president because you always have to think of that first and then second, somebody that helps you get elected, and there is nothing wrong with that." — President Donald Trump.

Reported by Alexis McAdams in an interview with President Trump. She's sharing this on Fox News Live today, around 2 p.m. Easter in the noon to 3 p.m. show.

He did that because it was an important issue to his base. Now that Roe vs Wade is history, Trump is now a moderate on abortion.

Tell that to the Supreme Court. It was their ruling, not mine.

Pssh. It was also their ruling in Dred Scott. Also their ruling in Separate but equal. It was also their ruling that got us Roe in the first place.

They were wrong in those cases. They are wrong now.

No. It undid the evils of Roe. But then SCOTUS punted this national issue to the states. As if the states could do anything about this national crisis.

And then Trump and his RNC cabal (yes I know I’m using inflammatory language) made matters worse by removing a core platform that has been a bedrock of conservatism for 40 years.

Why? The county made major progress because of Trump and his SC picks. Then he goes and blows it over his move to the center?

Politics, you say? Bad Politics I say.

Voting for Governor and state legislature matters more than who the president is regarding abortion.

OK. I agree to disagree. Trump has not changed his position since 2007 or so.

I have to thank you for a lesson. I did go back to 2016 and search for my posts on Pence. I was not as prescient as I thought. I was actually complementary. My later visceral dislike colored my recollections. I appreciate the chance for some humility : )

________________________________________________

Really? And what are Governors and state legislatures going to do about the 2 Billion Dollars FedZilla spend on Planned Parenthood and other abortion services?

What are they going to do about our Military promoting and making allowances for abortion? What can they do regarding an FDA advancing abortion on a national level? What can they do to overcome federal court decisions that override their state laws outlawing abortion? What can they do.....

I keep saying this till I’m blue in the face. Dobbs was good that it undid Roe. But punting it to the states is a huge mistake. The states are powerless to overcome 40 years of Roe.

Trump should never have made this move to the left.

It's ok, Jay, we all have skeletons in the closet...lol.

I still think Greg Abbott would be the perfect addition to the ticket. He's the actual Border Czar today, why not promote him to the Executive Mansion?

As an added bonus, his LT Governor Dan Patrick is far more conservative than Abbott.

Abortion originated as culling the slaves in the south. Tt has continued under the Democrats.

It’s good to think outside the box. I am very interested in who President Trump will pick, but he is wise to raise anticipation and capture the news cycle. It is bittersweet but I think that getting shot is going to bring in some people because he handled it so bravely & defiantly. Lots of Americans from various walks of life will respect that.

One criterion: That the pick scares Deep State at least as much as Trump does.

Praying that such a person exists...

“There are certain things that I don’t think can ever be negotiated. Let me put it this way: I am pro life, and pro-life people will find out that I will be very loyal to them, just as I am loyal to other people. I would be appointing judges that feel the way I feel,” he told the paper in May 2011.

You might want to go have a little talk with your lap dog Reno89519. I think the modes and JimRob are getting a little tired of you all posting nonsense and then whining to the mods when you get called out on it.

Both Trump and JimRob are calling for unity. Yet you ate here as a divider. Why?

I’d love it if it were Vivek. But I think since he’s ahead he will go for “safe”.

Whether she’s actually conning people or not, I think the VP should be someone who will nominate judges as well as Trump does just in case the worst happens. Someone with her political background is not likely to be truly conservative on the issue of judges.

That is a very good point.
