"The choice will be very very good, it's going to be a great vice president, meaning a person that can do a fantastic job as president because you always have to think of that first and then second, somebody that helps you get elected, and there is nothing wrong with that." — President Donald Trump.

Reported by Alexis McAdams in an interview with President Trump. She's sharing this on Fox News Live today, around 2 p.m. Easter in the noon to 3 p.m. show.

Burgum being endorsed by Rove was the Kiss of Death for me.

Two key criteria: (1) Ready to serve and (2) helps win the election.

Three keys.....

(3) Is easily able to seamlessly be president in 28.

That key criteria lets kindly Dr. Carson out.

No matter who Trump names, I fear the negative comments on FR will far outweigh the positive comments.

You wait and see.....instead, we will need everyone to get behind the ticket.

“You’re just an anonymous Chairborne Ranger...”

Whatever that is, and it must be as sick as you, how do you differ?

Why don’t you give us your name and address?

Get a life and STFU.

Tell me, did you know Pence was a bad choice at the time? And if so did you warn everyone or voice that opinion?

Good question. I'm warning everyone now that Tim Scott would be a bad choice. He's a black version of the white Mike Pence.

Just last month he reiterated his stand that Biden won the election fair and square.

2022 is very long ago? These are just a few of Tulsi’s recent positions, ratings & statements, much more information at the link. Does this sound like the person you want one heartbeat away from the Presidency?
I don’t believe in fairy tales nor in Tulsi’s self serving proclaimed political 180.

Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
The very real possibility of Roe v Wade being overturned terrifies me. I am sick of women’s bodies being used as pawns so politicians can score cheap political points at the expense of their freedom and safety. I am wholly committed to abortion remaining safe, legal and rare. We must commit to defending a woman’s right to choose. I also support sensible codifying of Roe v Wade preventing third-trimester abortion except when there are grave or life-threatening health consequences for the mother.

We need to invest in 100% renewable and safe energy sources like wind, solar, and geothermal. I also support a ban on fracking, ending the $26 billion/year in fossil fuel subsidies, ban offshore drilling, harness innovation to create jobs in renewable energy, provide better opportunities for our farmers, ensure every American has clean air and water, and ban all subsidies or waivers to the nuclear power industry, which should itself be completely responsible for paying for its own insurance and paying the long term cost for safe storage of nuclear waste over centuries.

We cannot allow partisan politics to get in the way of taking meaningful action in areas where both parties agree and that have the support of most Americans across this country. Here are a few examples: Both Democrats and Republicans support legislation I have co-sponsored to ban bump stocks. Both Democrats and Republicans support legislation to uphold Second Amendment rights and strengthen the National Instant Criminal Background Check System.

I support a single-payer system where everyone contributes and is covered, and that will also allow individuals to access private insurance if they choose. If we truly want to reform our healthcare system, we cannot give big insurance and big pharma a seat at the table to draft legislation. Unlike so many of my colleagues in Congress, I will not bow to the pressure of lobbyists and special interest groups and will instead stand up for the interests of the American people.

I will not accept the false choice between compassion and security that is currently being offered to us. We need comprehensive immigration reform to address our broken immigration laws and we need to have a serious conversation about the most effective and humane ways to compassionately secure our borders while building bridges and cooperative foreign policy with other countries. Most urgently, we must pass DACA to ensure children who know no other home are allowed to remain in the US and take steps to ensure children are not separated from their parents.

No, let people speak, we are not Kool-Aid drinkers and this is not an echo chamber. Nothing anyone says here will remotely match what the media and Democrats might do. Let’s get it all out, discuss it, not shut it down. Maybe the choice will end up surprising us, maybe the candidate will address the Freeper concerns. Maybe we learn to like the candidate, see the value of the choice, but shutting down discussion, namecalling, and bullying silence would be wrong and not in FR tradition.

“I think cnsmom is undeserving of your personal attack.”

No, no, this country is on the eve of destruction. Trump is the only one who can stop it, if at all possible, as verified by the destroyers trying to destroy him, and we still have these vultures circling around and trying to undermine him.

People like cnsmom should get together and find their perfect candidate and run him/her for president.

I respect him. He has a keen intellect, is intensely loyal to America and to MAGA. I would be thrilled to have him as VP.

Nearly all of those are 2020 and earlier. And the newest ones are still predominantly dated.

odawg, try to be civil on the thread. Allow and respect everyone’s opinions just as we do yours. It is simply wrong to insult people, tell them to STFU, except in the worst circumstance and there is little in this discussion thread to warrant that, especially from the people you are criticizing. Please, let’s play nice.

Nope & nope. I thought he was solid.

Trump, just say NO to any US senator. Say NO to go along to get along.

Bump that.

And now that Trump has swung to the center on pro-life issues - who knows what he believes?

Some say Trump blows in the wind with whatever will get him elected. And he is a populist, so there’s that.

Gabbard has not proven herself to be anything but a radical leftist.
I don’t know why the fanboys think she’s a viable VP candidate. Impressive bikini photo should not be one of the criteria, sorry.
She’s a gun grabbing, pro reparations, end fossil fuels, nutjob.

Sorry. My fingers go on by themselves sometimes.
I don’t remember making negative comments on Pence. My recollection is that I didn’t know anything about him until he was chosen. Once chosen I would not weaken the ticket by backbiting.
I could look back to be sure but it is so long ago it would be a cumbersome search.

And he is a populist, so there’s that.

He's a nationalist more than anything.

He does not care about the abortion issue. He sees it as a distraction.
