Part of what brought Vance to the dance may be his undoing. Donors are scared of him.
In his rise from Donald Trump critic to viable contender to be the presumptive Republican nominee’s running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio has come so far. But he may fall just short thanks to some risk-averse GOP donors.

Vance would make a first class VP for Trump.
We want Burgum or Rubio, either easily manipulated after President Trump is disposed of.
Nuts!
Why is having a deep state, basically Democrat VP helping? He might as well pick Bernie Sanders.
What’s the best way to drain the swamp?
Pick a swamp creature for VP!
Yeah, that’ll do it.....
Put on a blindfold....
Throw a dart at a map of the United States....
Wherever it lands grab the white pages.....
Flip it open and point...
There’s your MAGA VP.
Put the ordinary people back in charge.
“Vance underperformed Republican Gov. Mike DeWine”
Vance’s opponent was much better known than DeWines’.
At least they would have to be manipulated. Vance is already 100% deep state. Going for high minimum wage, big government, unlimited abortion, DEI.
nice try daily beast
but the real story is what kind of face plant biden will make at his big boy press conference
Typically Presidents pick an unknown boring person with a resume and sufficient qualifications and the type of personality that will not upstage the President. BERGUM
Pence, Biden, Gore, Bush I, Quayle, Ford, LBJ, mondale
Nope. JDV brings no new votes in, and likely would lose many, as the ticket, to the critical middle voters, would then be perceived as “just two more rich conservative white guys”.
Whatever any “GOP strategist” is for, I’m against.
I don’t think LBJ qualifies. And Nixon picked Agnew, because he wasn’t like that, but he stayed far away from him.
Bingo! You nailed it.
Yeah Nick, riiiight....
Do you refer to a Vance who ran against a popular liberal senator in the state of Ohio that was not yet completely red, and who criticized Trump vehemently ?....or a more recent Vance who supports Trump strongly ? Is opposing Ukraine funding a deep state platform ?
Whenever I’ve heard him recently, I’m wishing ‘that guy was on our side’.
I'd have to go back to the history of that pick, I thought maybe JFK was told to pick LBJ, rather than it being his choice.
What’s wrong with deSantis?
He’s already got executive experience. He’s conservative. And he could step right in if (God forbid) anything happens to Pres. Trump.
I won’t vote if Burgum or Rubio is on the ballot with Trump. Rubio is basically out to begin with because he’s lives in Florida as does President Trump.
