Today, supporters of the “Protect Women & Children” ballot initiative submitted more than 205,000 signatures to the Nebraska Secretary of State, including at least 5% of registered voters in over 90 counties.

10% of the state’s registered voters, about 123,000 signatures, and at least 5% of registered voters in 38 of 93 counties were needed by July 3rd to place a constitutional amendment on the ballot.

Nebraska Family Alliance released the following statement celebrating the signature submission:

“In less than 100 days, over 205,000 Nebraskans signed the Protect Women & Children ballot initiative.

Nebraskans are motivated to stand up to protect women and children from the abortion industry’s extreme proposal that would expand late-term abortion, eliminate parental notification requirements, and authorize taxpayer funding of abortion.

Voters will have a clear choice this election, and the Protect Women & Children initiative reflects our state’s commitment to provide women real care and support while protecting the lives of precious baby boys and girls.”
