Three suspects are in custody after running over a 69-year-old woman while attempting to flee the scene of a robbery outside a sprawling, high-end shopping mall in Orange County Tuesday. KTLA's Chris Wolfe reports on July 2, 2024.

Authorities identified the suspects as 26-year-old Leroyernest Joseph McCrary of Compton; 18-year-old Jaden Cunningham of Lancaster; and 18-year-old Malachi Edward Darnell of Los Angeles. All three were booked on suspicion of homicide, robbery with a firearm and conspiracy.
McCrary, who also goes by the name LeRoy Ernest McCrary, has a history of crimes in L.A. County. He was arrested and charged in October 2022 with being a narcotics addict in possession of a firearm, a felony. He pleaded no contest to that felony charge the October of the following year.
McCrary also was charged in a robbery case in September 2023 and pleaded no contest. He received a concurrent sentence for both convictions and got two years of probation and three years in state prison, with the sentence suspended.
McCrary also was arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license in both 2018 and 2021.
It still is… with exception of some lib LA street thugs. These thugs will now have to face Orange County prosecution.
I would guess it was the husband of the 69 year old female tourist, was was brutally ran over and killed on the spot.
Yeah maybe the LA Mayor Bass can find them a nice comfy home in that new highrise shelter she so proudly opened last month! After all, thugs gotta live with nice things too!

When the first Death Wish film was new at theaters Time Magazine reported that tourism from Japan went down. People thought the movie was either a documentary with re-enactments or a names changed semi-fictional story.

Ghastly story. I’ve been to and enjoyed Fashion Island, unimaginable that such a thing would occur there. My daughter was on a cruise through Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand recently Was so impressed with the people there. This poor woman murdered by thugs. May she Rest in Peace.
Death penalty for sure. I’d string them up in the mall.
Orange County CA was a long time Republican stronghold.
One of my relatives who lived in CA lived in Whittier. She was a die hard Richard Nixon Supporter.
Richard Nixon was the first presidential candidate I voted for. Have no regrets, except he was forced out on ignorant charges and the media.
They won’t get the death penalty. They’ll probably all do less than 20 yrs. And that makes me sick.
I lived in Newport Beach many decades ago.
If any black person was in town and was wearing more than a bathing suit cops would follow them.

I’m currently staying with a relative whose home is 2 miles away from Fashion Island and I frequently visit it when I am in town.
Last year when I was visiting, there was a hot burglary at a home on the Pelican Hill golf course which is one block from my relative’s house. While we were home the perpetrators jumped the fence a block away and the police swarmed and sealed off the neighborhood.
LA and all the big blue cities are turning into retail deserts and the usual suspects along with the illegal invaders now have to raid the formerly-safe suburbs.
It’s California. They’ll be sentenced to work-release.
