i was on our blm salem oregon district spotted owl survey early 90’s.

our wildlife biologist cooked the books by swapping habitable acreage with total acreage thus changing 100 % habitat saturation to endangered.

i told my boss.

next year i wasn't given another nte 180.

“our wildlife biologist cooked the books”

He was trying to stop logging to support the Spotted Owl.

Lefties are truly crazy.

Another guy and I did the Deschutes NF spotted owl survey in 1979. We didn’t find many spotted owls, at least ones that would answer our call. It was still a fun summer, though I missed out on a really good fire season.
