The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) launched an investigation into the death of a major general, officials said Tuesday, after the officer's body was found on the Twentynine Palms marine base in California over the weekend.
Details about the death of Maj. Gen. William Mullen have not been disclosed so far, but the retired officer was discovered dead on the base on Saturday, according to the Los Angeles Times. NCIS is a law enforcement agency for the Department of the Navy that leads criminal investigations and probes noncombat deaths of Navy sailors and Marines.

Mullen previously served as the commander of the base before he retired in 2020, and served multiple tours of the Middle East. He also served as a Marine aide to former President Bill Clinton, and led a counternarcotics mission in the Los Padres National Forest, which is located in Southern and Central California.

I did but no one else in my circle did.
Thank you!(for all of it).
Twenty Nine Palms(in the first line).

Really?
Unfortunately, that is the pattern. Return to the familiar for a final moment of comfort.
Yes, Bill Clinton has aids...
As weird as it seems, a stray cat adoption helped me settle down.
He might have had some kind of teaching position, would be my guess.
He lived in Colorado and had recently been a consultant for Ukraine military.

Possibly connected to the two Chechen guys “taking pictures” and stalking the LC on base? where he whacked one of them? If this guy had ties to whats going on there it may have got him kilt. Supposedly the rooskies and their merry band of satellites have assets here stalking our military for reprisals.
Good thought about connecting the Ft. Liberty on May 3 and this death. Things that make you go “hmmmm.”
Which cartel got him?
I have known a couple of retired generals, shortly after they retired. One took a few months before he adjusted to civilian status. Both of them seemed more comfortable with low level employees than manager types. I was security admin, and they both usually stopped by my desk to chat on their way into or out of my secure spaces.
Things that make you go “hmmmm.”Rule #39.
a bit more personal history above
“He retired four years ago and he was on a base? Is that common? Brought back as a consultant?”
Very common. General officers come and go just like enlisted. The article didn’t say where the body was found or the condidtions. He might have been on the base doing a speaking engagement, to honor someone at an event, or just visiting a friend. They also go into business. Many retired officers join the boards of major contractors like Lockheed Martin or the ranks of lobbyists at major firms that include weapons contractors as clients. And some set up their own consulting firms, work as advisors to defense startups, and join firms that finance arms companies. Just another person.

One of the buzzwords I had was we have to get away from focusing on process, and we have to focus on product. What do the Marines understand and retain once they move out to the operating forces? That is what is most important. Everything we do should focus more on that: helping them understand more, retain better, think better—not the process of just moving things through and making sure you have all the “i’s” dotted and all the “t’s” crossed. That, to me, is our biggest obstacle: our own processes and bureaucracies and being so focused on process.
an interesting interview
He is a member of the Ukrainian Freedom Fund… everything associated with Ukraine is corrupt… he was also likely double vaxxed and boosted and anyone who is a walking time bomb. Could be many things including Arkanside.
