Carl Bernstein claims Biden White House insiders have told him that the president's visibly ailing health at the first debate Thursday has been seen on numerous occasions in the past 18 months.
The torturous 90-minute debate saw the president frequently lose his train of thought, trail off mid-sentence and mix up topics, prompting a cacophony of calls from politicians and pundits for the 81-year-old to step down.
The performance has sparked an unprecedented panic in the party, leading many to wonder if Biden, 81, should drop out or even resign.
Bernstein, 80, is a longtime journalistic icon in Washington, having broken the Watergate scandal that took down Richard Nixon 50 years ago.
While he told Anderson Cooper Biden was 'at his absolute best' during his brief speech in response to the Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity, his advisors and staffers who love and admire the president say 'in the last six months, particularly, there has been a marked incidents of cognitive decline and physical infirmity.'
In an interview Monday, Bernstein confessed to multiple sources telling him that Biden's looked very similar to the way he did Thursday night at least 15 to 20 times in the past year and a half.
'[My sources] are adamant that what we saw the other night—the Joe Biden we saw— is not a one-off,' he told Anderson Cooper.
Bernstein said that many have gone as far as ex-White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain - who took heat for his performance in preparing Biden for the debate from his family and advisors - with their concerns over the president's health.
'They have all gone to Ron Klain in the past year to say 'we have a problem' such as we saw the other night.'

She used that that exact phrase, or a variation, in numerous speeches over the years.
Biden may be brain damaged, but what’s her excuse?

In other words, Biden is “up and able” 480 days out of 500.
Joe Biden doesn’t have to sign bills into law. They become law if he does nothing (except if Congress is adjourned).
Laws can be rewritten (and should be) so presidents have less power.
The cabinet can always remove Joe if he can’t be expected to do what he needs to do. The Vice President can ask Congress to exercise its 25th Amendment power by making two phone calls.

The military officer that carries around the “football” has to punch in appropriate codes.
These codes would include two PINs (one for Joe and one for the suitcase guy) and from a book, missile activation codes and warhead destination codes.
At the missile bases, launch officers would have to do something like turn keys. They are probably told to call a Pentagon number, to listen to broadcasts and to try to use websites. I suspect no missile would fly unless a major city went ‘dark’. The launch officers would also have access to NORAD information.
So the big name “reporter” knew the Presidency was compromised the for a year and a half, that staffers have been running the country, and admits to conspiracy to keep it on the down low.

This also needs to be taken into context with the revelation that Biden also had secret documents and the indictment of Hunter. Neither of these things needed to happen. They could have gone on forever without announcing this.
I have 3 theories (listed in order of liklihood)....
1.) They know Joe can't win in 2024 but they also don't want his natural successor to win (Kamaltoe). They need to have a contested election where another ticket can take the nomination away from the Biden/Harris ticket. They have timed these hits on him to weaken him but no so much that he drops out and endorses Kamala.
2.) They are subjecting us to a humiliation ritual. They will put up the weakest, most feeble candidate possible and then will cheat in the most obvious way to make sure we understand that we are dominated and there is nothing we can do about it.
3.) They have something terrible planned for us (a la Covid) and want to ensure they have Trump in place for when they unleash it on us (a la Covid) so they won't take the blame and Republicans in the country will do what the government orders them to do.

The Huston Plan was a 43-page report and outline of proposed security operations put together by White House aide Tom Charles Huston in 1970. It came to light during the 1973 Watergate hearings headed by Senator Sam Ervin (D-NC). According to U.S. Senator Charles Mathias (R-MD), U.S. President Richard Nixon rescinded the plan on July 28, 1970, after approving it on July 23.
The impetus for this report was President Richard Nixon’s desire for coordination of domestic intelligence on purported ‘left-wing radicals’ and the counterculture-era anti-war movement in general. Huston had been assigned as White House liaison to the Interagency Committee on Intelligence (ICI), a group chaired by J. Edgar Hoover, then Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director. Huston worked closely with William C. Sullivan, Hoover’s assistant, in drawing up the options listed in what eventually became the document known as the Huston Plan.
The plan called for domestic burglary, illegal electronic surveillance, and opening the mail of domestic “radicals”. At one time, it also called for camps in Western states where anti-war protesters would be detained.
On July 23, 1970, Nixon ratified the proposals, and they were submitted as a document to the directors of the FBI, Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), and the National Security Agency (NSA).
