Former President Trump has presumptive immunity for pressuring then-Vice President Mike Pence to subvert the results of the presidential election in his favor by certifying slates of so-called “fake electors” on Jan. 6, 2021, the Supreme Court ruled Monday.
The determination came within the justices’ highly anticipated opinion on presidential immunity, in which they ruled that core presidential powers are immune from criminal prosecution. The decision returns Trump’s federal election interference case back to a lower court to decide whether his actions leading up to Jan. 6 merit the protection.
This applies to the electors:
If you have to stand to get standing to get the due process due under the Constitution, you have a constitutional right to stand.
An “Alternate Slate of Electors” is perfectly legal (not fake) and have been used at least twice. 1867 and 1960 (Kennedy, Hawaii)
“Former President Trump has presumptive immunity for pressuring then-Vice President Mike Pence to subvert the results of the presidential election in his favor by certifying slates of so-called “fake electors” on Jan. 6, 2021, the Supreme Court ruled Monday.”
I am real certain that is not how the decision read. But what would journalism be without spin on the bias.
Presidential elections are important, and they occur across a vast country.
There were many significant reasons to suspect a wide variety of frauds in states far apart as Arizona and Georgia. Persons deeply concerned about this fraud investigated a wide range of legal options, often with the advice of lawyers.
That there was violence in Detroit and DC in 1968 would not have been sufficient cause to hunt down and imprison every black person who openly complained about racial injustice.
“For filling the constitution?”
I believe you misspelled defiling.
For goodness’ sake, Pence was on the ticket.
I think you misspelled ‘following’.
For pressuring Pence to stop them from overturning the election through vote fraud.
Of course Pence was a coward and helped them legitimize that corrupt piece of sh*t.
Congress cannot "override" the US Constitution. Whatever power it grants the President of the Senate, it cannot be constrained by simple statute law.
Trump was encouraging Pence to PREVENT the election from being overturned, which it was, by Biden, Obama, et al.
Any honest and fair examination of what happened on election night in 2020 will prove this conclusively.
That’s why no court will review the fraud, the results are obvious.
” do his duty as the President of the Senate and send the elector slates back to the States who cheated.”
Pence did not have that authority nor did he have knowledge of which states cheated.
Electors are decided by the states.
“Objections to individual state returns must be made in writing by at least one Member each of the Senate and House of Representatives. If an objection meets these requirements, the joint session recesses and the two houses separate and debate the question in their respective chambers for a maximum of two hours,” the CRS said. “The two houses then vote separately to accept or reject the objection. They then reassemble in joint session, and announce the results of their respective votes. An objection to a state’s electoral vote must be approved by both houses in order for any contested votes to be excluded.”

For being a little coward bitch and *NOT* fulfilling his duty to the constitution.
He allowed a corrupt election to empower a corrupt, nasty, perverted man who did *NOT* win the actual election, and who was only put into power through massive fake ballots put into the system in Democrat controlled cities of the swing states.
And Pence was a bitch for not having the balls to stand up to it.
Please cite where he had that authority!
Exactly!
The Hill- a bunch of pukes!
You are putting forth the logical fallacy known as "false choice."
You pretend there is only one choice, and ignore the fact that there was another choice, and that was to delay the certification, and even to throw the election into the house of representatives.
So Pence could have *FOLLOWED* the constitution by doing just that. He has no obligation to rubber stamp fraudulent "certifications."
In fact, he has a duty to refuse to do any such thing. If he were a man instead of a cowardly little bitch, he would have done that, but he did the coward bitch thing instead.
Yes, he *DID* have the authority, and he knew that enough states cheated to warrant a refusal to go along with it. But coward bitches got to be coward bitches, and so Pence went along with it.
US constitution.
As President of the Senate, he presides over the event.
This does not mean he is a rubber doll, it means that he as a man would be expected to act with the same honor as any man would have done in 1787.
Meaning they wouldn't be a little coward bitch who can be cowed into a corrupt proceeding against their will and against the interests of the nation.
He had power, he just refused to use it because he is a little coward bitch.
“they are alternatives similar to JFK Hawaiian alternatives which had to be in place mid December.”
A recount was in progress. As results came in Nixon addressed both houses requesting that the democratic caucus be accepted.
“US constitution.
As President of the Senate, he presides over the event.”
His power: The President of the Senate shall, in the Presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the Certificates, and the Votes shall then be counted.
Amen!
