BTW , wife and I went to Okinawa for the first time last year . It’s still “ occupied “ , more or less . Jets flying over Naha from morning until evening , bases and Americans everywhere . The folks there really do share an unfare burden .
They shoulda thought of that before they bombed the harbor.
Now they get to listen to jets take off all day every day.

I did 18 month there in 69-70. Kadena is the big air base. Okinawa then wasn’t officially part of Japan .
