Try to sell off a used EV with 40,000 miles already on it. Might as well take it out to the desert and start it on fire.

I was anti-EV, but that was probably because how they are trying to jam it down our throats, mandating all cars to be EV at some point in the future.

Right now, I’d buy one if I was in a better position financially. I have a 20 mile commute round trip, 6 days a week. I would have to charge a Tesla once every 2-3 weeks. Or, I could use the provided slow 110v charging adapter and I would never have to go to a super-charger. I think it charges at a rate of 3 miles(of charge)/hour.

I was also someone who didn’t believe we would ever have self driving cars. I have changed my mind on that too. Full self driving(FSD) is coming and soon. Data will show that FSD is(or will be soon) safer than the average human driver in most situations.

Hybrids make sense to me also for someone in my situation, as do ICE vehicles.

I wouldn’t bet too heavy against Tesla these days. Tesla will be getting paid by most other car companies to license the Tesla technology in some of their cars in the coming years.

Just to be clear, before I get flamed on here... I believe people should be able to choose what vehicle they want to drive and how they want to have them driven. Freedom to do what you want as long as it doesn’t interfere with other American citizens’ freedom to pursue their own happiness.

No oil changes is another thing I like. Why do the tires wear out on a Tesla faster? Does it have to do with regenerative braking?

Lead foot and the near instant torque of the electric motor.

... want to switch back ...

Well then: DO IT!!!

No one is stopping you from trading that highly valued and desirable vehicle for a gas/diesel powered one!

Last saturday while driving in 106 degree weather in the San Fernando valley near Woodland Hills, I was next to a Tesla Cybertruck and it had the passenger window down.

I am guessing that using the a/c would reduce it’s already low mileage even more.

Or you could get $40,000 for it.

Tesla has a 8 year warranty so five years left or 120,000 miles which ever comes first. Not wise to do the fear and loathing treatment to a 40 thousand dollar asset.

I have now owned EV’s for about 5 years. A BMW i3, BMWi4, and Hyundai Ioniq6.

1. None have caught fire or locked me in the car.

2. I haven’t replaced a main battery.

3. I have purchased one set of tires and one 12 volt
battery. The Tires on the Ioniq 6 have 20 miles and are
only half worn out. I should get about 4OK out of the
tires.

4. My 2023 Hyundai has 20K miles. Never been towed. Never
broke down. None of my vehicle have ever broke down on
the road, other than a road hazard that shredded a tire.

5. It costs me 10 dollars of electricity to drive 300 miles.
I haven’t touched a gas pump in years.

6. I put a 16 Amp, 240 volt charger in the garage. I have
300 miles of range every morning when I wake up.

7. BMW will be putting out a new EV in the coming year or
two that will get over 400 miles on a charge. I will get
one.

Yes, new technology is a pain. But is this new
technology? 60 years ago, we played with little cars and
trains that ran with electric motors. Now we have big
ones. Big ones that go 0 to 60 at mind warping
speeds. When I hit the pedal, from a stop, I’m a quarter
mile ahead of any ICE vehicle near me within seconds.

Yes, these cars are not for everyone. The wealthy will
adopt them first. Forcing them on someone who can’t
spend more than 10K on a car is lunacy. Marxist AOC and
Joe Biden have done more damage than Mao and his
revolution, his great leap forward. This is Bidens
version of the great leap forward. A genuine idiot.
