Gov. Gavin Newsom’s family will relocate to Marin county this summer, his office confirmed. The governor will begin splitting his time between the wealthy coastal community and Sacramento.

I lived in Marin county for a very long time. I lived in San Geronimo Valley, Fairfax, I lived in Mill Valley, I lived in San Rafael, Marshall. Went to church in Inverness for years, cooked in a restaurant in downtown San Rafael and Tiburon among other things. It was a great place to live, but you could never go back.
It’s still a very nice area, at least geographically.
There’s some natural formations not even Libs can ruin.
West Marin is that area you described. Woodacre is nice toi.
Still very little public transport between Sir Franis Drake Blvd. and places like Nicasio or Inverness.
I think perhaps most those who reside in West Marin enjoy knowing they are not easy to reach. Not quite as bad as those who live in Bolinas.
Well, I fell in love with Whites Hill during the spring, it was so beautiful. Lagunitas, Forest, Knolls not sure I ever remember living in Woodacre. Then in the early 80s I worked at Lagunitas station café, which was owned by the same people as San Rafael station which I also worked at. And I worked at Rancho Nicasio during the good times of live music there. New Morning Cafe in Tiburon was also a place I cooked for years. I hear it just closed after 50 years of the same ownership.I last lived in San Rafael but moved to Los Gatos in 1995.
It was a nice time of life.
But certainly not the same type of life that Gavin Newsom leads and will lead in Marin.
If you ever write a book on “Places I have cooked. Recipes I have served in West Marin. With lots of local photos or
illustrations, I would like a copy.
As you probably remember, many people in Marin love to reminisce, and talk abour good times they had within tbis county. They absolutely love it!
In my experience, rich liberals often find that if their kids are decent sorts, they tend to become conservatives. As Margaret Thatcher used to say, “The facts of life are conservative.”
Isnt it her parents who are Republicans and didn’t they move to Florida in recent years?
While this puts him closer, the French Laundry is in Napa County, and he is moving to Marin County.
Red John has had some activity in that area!
Perhaps the son’s family income is 4 times his, and now the son also has 2/3s less yard work.
Jordan Peterson, the Canadian Jimmy Jones. LOL.
I’m sure they are a hot mess. But, I’ll bet the teachers are overpaid and well-protected by their liberal union. And...that’s all that probably matters to them.
Nearly? Is that common core math :-)
Oh come on Gavin, enroll them in the inner-city schools of LA. They’ll learn a lot.
They light the bed on fire and move, this guy is the greasiest pf weasels
I visited Marin county last February. My uncle moved to Corte Madera in the 1960’s and raised his kids there. He is 93 and lives in San Rafael now. Had lunch at The Buckeye.
Nothing is too good for the elite who demand we do what they never will.
He doesn’t want his kids to attend a “racial jungle.”
Ah...good call. I got a bit carried away.
Has any governor moved the governor’s residence more than CA governors? I think Edmund Brown was the last one to keep his residence in the old Mansion. Every other governor after him found problems and moved to other houses - some bought for the governors in the city and some built for the governors outside of Sacramento. The Governor’s OLD MANSION is exquisite!
