Thanks for posting the Federal statute.

While one should expect the LAPD to enforce it, I'm wondering if the local Federal Marshall is at all sympathetic. What's the status there?

It's LA's law, and I've no doubt there are state laws which could have been enforced.

However it is a Federal law, which is enforced frequently by this and previous administrations. The FBI and Federal attorney in LA must be asleep. In fairness, an incident like this "making the case" would be a function of the local authorities, the FBI would not have been looking for this in advance. They should be now, particularly in liberal cities where there will be political pressure to look the other way.

BTW, I suspect they put that in the bill both to make it palatable to many congress critters and to tie abortion to a Constitutional right. Blocking access to religious institutions wasn’t an issue then. Maybe an attempt to tie it to attacks on black Churches which weren’t all that far in the past in 1994.

“ Democrat members of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors passed a motion to fund legal support for the terrorist supporters. The resolution to use taxpayer money to fund legal defenses for antisemites was put forward by Supervisor Lindsey Horvath who ‘represents’ CD3 where the synagogue hate riot was taking place. After all the antisemitic violence at UCLA, the only one facing serious charges is a Jewish student.”

Looks like the perps have a lot of support.
