Florida Judge Begins Dismantling Governor DeSantis’ Secrecy Operation
The Last Refuge ^ | 6/23/2024 | Sundance

People will see…. it might take a little more time than I would prefer, but the truth will come out and people will see.

A judge in Florida is starting to take apart the secrecy operation that Ron DeSantis and his DC Bush clan constructed during their block Trump operation.

DeSantis moved from Congress to the Florida Governor position in 2018; the intent was always to run for President in 2024 and take apart the Trump constructs returning the Republican apparatus to traditional corporate controls.

Part of their lengthy approach was to import some of the Washington DC silo/secrecy functions and overlay them into Florida state politics.

Arguably, Florida had the strongest public record transparency laws in the country, known collectively as “the sunshine laws.” When importing the schemes of DC, in order to support the hidden DeSantis agenda, those sunshine laws were considered a problem. The DeSantis team began changing the rules, subverting laws and demanding support from legislation.

If Ron DeSantis cured cancer, some on here would complain about its negative effects on the funeral business economy.

Some here would praise him if he was caught on video having sex with a 12 year old boy and his sister. Your point is?

Pres Trump, damn near every day, had to fight Congress, the federal bureaucracy, Governors, state legislatures, city councils and any decision that was made, challenged in a ridiculous lawsuit.

During his admin, Congress did what they do best, refusing to be transparent in the budget process and force a last minute signature.

Pres Trump got zero help from Republicans.

As for DeSantis, all but 3 counties are managed by Republicans. The legislature is Republican veto proof. The legislature drafts and passes the conservative legislature the people want and he signs their bills. IE….constitutional carry, which has become a RED state fad.

My point, a high school senior could be Governor of Florida with that kind of support.

I believe he left Congress to be a Governor and then step up to the White House as soon as possible.

Yet, if a Democrat Governor with a Democrat majority State Legislature did it, they'd be crying foul. When I pointed that out to them, they claimed they wouldn't care. What B.S.

We actually had a "near" case of this in Massachusetts in 2004 when Mitt Romney was the governor and the Democrat legislature thought that John Kerry would win the Presidential election.

The legislature changed the state law that let a governor appoint a vacancy in the Senate to take that power away from Romney and force him to call a special election to fill the vacancy.

Kerry eventually lost the election and remained in the Senate, so the move was eventually mooted by events, though the law is still on the books and the Massachusetts can no longer appoint Senators to fill vacancies.

Republicans may have hemmed and hawed but didn't raise a big stink about it. They just figured "it's Massachusetts and we don't stand a chance there," until Scott Brown won the special election in 2010 when Ted Kennedy died.

Of course, Elizabeth Warren beat Brown in the 2012 general election for the seat, so maybe they were right after all.

Oh brother. That’s my district. We are deep red, but not stupid deep red. I was impressed with her until I met her. She’s a wackadoodle. That was her third district she ran in. Thankfully she gave up this election. She’s urgently looking for the next district to run in.

You said DeSantis didn’t complain about a stolen election. His responsibility is to Florida.

“Is President Trump and Governor DeSantis now on the same team? Yes they are.”

They were also on the same team prior to the backstabbing. DeSantis is a politician; why would you think he would stay out of the political ball game.

“DeSantis is a politician; why would you think he would stay out of the political ball game.”

Why do you think President Trump wants him in the game on his team?

Importantly, why are you stabbing in the back President Trump's efforts to raise money to win this campaign?

“My point, a high school senior could be Governor of Florida with that kind of support.”

The Florida legislature has been solid Republican for quite some time.

Ron DeSantis has done something with that majority. Republican Charlie Crist did not.

Do you know why?

Eeek!!!! How horrible!

Admittedly shouldn’t be done, but honestly just a bunch of drivel.

That crap doesn't surprise me at all. And it is just another example of gutless Republicans.

When Rudy won the election for Mayor of New York City, there were no term limits for Mayor. The end of 1993, just prior to his being sworn in, in January 1994, the RAT-controlled City Council passed a Bill limiting the office of Mayor to two consecutive terms. Sometime prior to the 2001 election for Mayor, Bloomberg, a life-long RAT, changed to Republican, to run on Rudy's coattails. Rudy asked the City Council if he could remain in office, at least to see the city through the aftermath of 9/11. They refused. In 2008, Bloomberg changed his party from GOP to Independent, and asked the City Council if they would let him run for a third term. They said "Of course!!" without submitting the issue to the voters. There were legal challenges, but Federal Courts rejected them all. Bloomberg was elected to a third term. In 2010, a ballot referendum was introduced to return the Mayor's term limit to two and passed overwhelmingly, limiting the next Mayor Bill De Blasio to two consecutive terms.

“I believe he already knew he was going to run for President when he ran for his second term as Governor.”

Governor DeSantis tacitly acknowledged the possibility he would run for President during the campaign debate with opponent Charlie Crist. You were perhaps the last person to find out months later.

Florida voters knew and re-elected Governor DeSantis with nearly 60 percent of the vote.

Sure, you resent things not going the way you said you wanted them to go. I understand your hurt.

I don’t.

But I can take a wild guess. It’s all about who is sitting in the chairs of the legislature. People elect folks that won’t shy away from a fight and actually care, people will get a state legislature like the one in Florida.

I’ll take a barroom, back alley street fighter over a frat boy, tassle wearing country club Republican all day.

If I made the rules, lawyers/lobbyists/staffers/rich kids/Chamber of Commerce types are forbidden from holding any office. Except for District Attorney, that job goes with being a lawyer.

Just as no one should be on a school board unless they have a kid in the system. And of people want to know about the budget, let people volunteer their time to go through the budget transparently so taxpayers know where their money is going.

Time to put the rich, country club kid, being groomed for a slot, out to pasture.

The sad thing is that Republican ruling councils NEVER do this when their own wins an election.

I've said before that it's not just that it's not in their DNA to do so, it's that mentally they can't conceive of the thought of doing it. And by extension, they never think that the Democrats can be so devious in what they think up and so are never prepared for what the Democrats spring on them.

I don't live in Florida and didn't give a crap about that debate or election. I have enough BS going on here in NY State, thank you. I do know that DeSantis barely got elected, and that Trump actually endorsed him for Governor before he'd even announced he was running.

And that's the problem. How many times does it take for the RATS to pull the wool over Republicans eyes before they wake up? The RATS are always 10 steps ahead of Republicans.

Apparently you have not yet heard there are, indeed, RINO’s in the Florida legislature that have been prodded along to adopt controversial legislation by America's Governor - Ron DeSantis.

RINO’s in the Florida legislature don't like DeSantis; he disrupted their cozy relationships with Disney money; pushed back against Big Education and their riotous students; pushed back early on masks; pushed back on DEI racism; and much more.

Attack adults that grew up as rich kids; attack rich Republicans that own county clubs; that doesn't describe Governor DeSantis.

But it does describe all the people that pushed into and funded his campaign.

Show me who your friends are and I’ll tell who you are.
