I don't know how real Tulsi Gabbard is as Trump's VP pick or as a member of his cabinet, she's got an interesting history. Gabbard is currently an Independent, a veteran, a moderate, and checks off a lot of boxes. She's got a history on the Second Amendment that raises flags. People change. Heck, even Trump banned bump stocks in his first term. This short 9-minute video gives some context of where she came from and where she's at. It is an interesting discussion.

Gabbard is clear she stands by the Second Amendment. She shares her history on this, growing up in Hawaii where guns are virtually banned, then her military experience, then mention learning, recognizing, and appreciating God-given rights and the bigger intent of the Second Amendment. Yes, 9 minutes, but it was clearly more than “I support the Second Amendment”, which too many politicians spout without knowing or really meaning what they say.

Scott Walker is not keen on her, even noting a low score with Faith & Freedom. I wonder where Faith & Freedom ranks her today as she gave a very well-received speech on Saturday.

9 minutes because she forthrightly answered the questions. She was asked why, and she explained it. What more do you want? She repented her previous beliefs and actions. It’s said that no one is more zealous than the recent convert. I say welcome her and give her a chance to prove it.

So what? Lots of us were Democrats. I was. I voted for Jimmy Carter both times. I suppose you’re a pure conservative, lifelong Republican, ever since the doc slapped your fundament and you took your first breath.

I'll reserve judgment. I've seen too many politicians (Democrats and Republicans) saying I support the Second Amendment and even running campaign ads showing them hunting, as though the 2nd only protects hunters. However, when push comes to shove, they vote for Assault Weapons Bans, Magazine limits, Universal Background checks, Red Flag Laws, etc.

Agreed. I appreciate her discussion on the topic, it seems authentic. And, as a plus, she’s a veteran, no other potential VP or cabinet choice is a veteran.

That applies to lots of folks. Go back to Cruz who’s flip-flopped on Trump, only clear on supporting him when he needed Trump’s help to drag him over the finish line against Beto. Or JD Vance, a Never Trumper until he also needed Trump’s help to get elected.

This lady was my congress critter for a few terms.
She is half Samoan, who are very loyal, honest and aggressive people.
I have to take her at her word.
The only thing I worry about is she is a Lt.Colonel and officers are notorious for disliking “uncontrolled” guns.
