Is This Our First Look At Russia’s New Monster Glide Bomb Striking Ukraine?

Russian forces have begun employing massive 3,000-kilogram (6,600-pound) class FAB-3000 M54 bombs turned into stand-off weapons in Ukraine it has been claimed. If true, this could present a significant new challenge for Ukrainian forces given the amount of destruction power such a weapon could deliver while also helping the launch platform stay further away from Ukrainian air defenses.
At the same time, questions have already been raised about what aircraft might be able to employ FAB-3000 M54s converted in this way and the size of the available stockpile of the bombs, all of which could limit their actual operational utility.
The Fighterbomber channel on Telegram, which has close connections to the Russian Aerospace Forces, shared a video, seen below, earlier today purporting to show the first combat employment of a FAB-3000 M54 fitted with a UMPK-series glide bomb kit. UMPK modules consist of a pop-out wing kit and a guidance package, as you can read more about here.
The FAB-3000 is one of, if not the largest conventional general-purpose high-explosive bomb in Russian service today. There is no direct U.S. military analog, with the largest of the three most common sizes of bombs American forces employ being in the 2,000-pound (900-kilogram) class, or less than a third of the size….
…. Whatever the weapon is, it clearly has significant destructive power, causing major damage to the apparent main target and completely leveling three other buildings. Other structures in the area also show signs of being damaged to varying degrees……

“The cost of freedom is not small, and a lot more will be lost before the war is over and Putin is expelled from Ukraine.”
Easy for you to say. What price are you, personally, willing to pay? The lives and fortunes of others are cheap, right?

Not easy to say at all.
I saw people dying all around me, both Marines and civilians and enemy soldiers. War is not pretty. I personally wish that I had not witnessed what I saw.
Talking about war is easy for you and very cheap, since you haven't seen what it's like.
I don't wish war on anyone, but, war is a reality, even when you don't want any of it. But, there are people who do want war as their method of achieving their goals. So, we do need to defend against whoever or whatever comes to do us harm. We're not Ukrainians, but if not for us, the Putin and Russia would not stop with just Ukraine. Tyrannical regimes like Russia, will not stop unless they are stopped.
We can talk about war at a distance and not even blink an eye when we can't imagine the suffering that people are going through, so, don't say shit about that which you have no idea about. I've seen war first-hand and I don't have to imagine what it's like, because, I lived it.

Yep. Retarded American monkeys, picking sides like it’s a friggin’ TV football game.
No think, just pick a side.
Nobody talking about how CIA and State Dept took over Ukraine in a Coup in 2011 and kept inching NATO closer to Russian borders.
Anyone surprised by Russias response isn’t a serious contender for the deep-thinker club.
The only reason the TV told the drones to worry about Ukrain is A, they’re the Kazarian Mafias kingdom for money laundering across the globe, and 2 they’re the most corrupt just below Russia, so lots of business can be done in the gov’t of Ukraine for the right price.
The reason Ukraine has made an enemies list of conservatives the US, is their entire corrupt economy is about to end as soon as conservatives dry up the funds for the bottomless pit of foreign aid that they spend, and we are on the tab for paying.

Mainstream military commentators suggest the accuracy of UMPK-equipped glide bombs is poor but, with a claimed main destructive radius of 230 meters (750 feet) with lethal fragments out to over 1,200 meters (4,000 feet) , even a “near miss” by a FAB-3000 is difficult to defend against.

The FAB-3000 has a reported radius of continuous destruction of 230 meters (754 ft), with fragments retaining their lethal force at a distance of 1,240 meters (4068 ft), according to Russian military channels.

“This is an excellent result even for a guided munition,” Fighter Bomber wrote alongside the video, before claiming that fragments of the bomb “retain their destructive power at a range of 1,240 metres”.

That is why the west lusts for dominion over it.
Russia is still one of the poorest countries in the world, and per-capita are no better off than the poorest in the U.S.
When it comes to natural riches, it's all imaginary when it's not being used to enrich the people. Russia might as well be another Cuba. Nobody lusts about what Russia has, and it's Russia that lusts after whatever their neighbors have, which is why they want Ukraine and whatever other countries nearby they can take.
A country with the natural wealth you claim they have, would be the envy of the world, but, it's very far from that. Try another argument, and perhaps a real one this time.

i>Is that your word for fomenting Revolutions to overthrow democracies and killing disenfranchised voters?
Stop talking about things you have no idea about. Freedom comes from a democracy, and Russia is no democracy at all. The countries around Russia have experienced what democracy is about, and that's why they want to defend themselves against a tyrannical regime like Russia. Nobody has tried to overthrow Russia. It's Russia that has overthrown governments around it and will continue doing so unless it's stopped.
When it comes o voter, how many people in Russia do you think believe that their votes mattered? Russia has even interfered in our elections, so, how do you feel about the disenfranchisement of our voters here?

You deny facts?
Isn’t that mental illness?
No country has been blessed with such an abundance of natural resources...not even us.
Edify yourself and pull the tree from your eye.

I’m not interested in fighting for “democracy”
Spare me the lesson on what the constitution is, and what a democratic republic is. A constitutional representative republic, as what we have, also offers the type of democracy which is the envy of the world. But, whatever the terms to describe our form of government, it's a democracy which needs to be on-guard all the time and will forever need to be defended. Defense of democracy is not just within our borders. Learn the realities of the world in which we live in.

What the heck does that say about the US and NATO who have thrown everything they have at the Russkies for over 10 years and are losing?
You actually believe that???
Think again...
The U.S. and NATO could win the war in a day, if they wanted to destroy Russia. That's not the goal for the alliance. The goal is to make it very expensive for Russia, both in casualties and weapons and economic losses. Russia is not doing well on any of those fronts, and they can't continue with their massive losses for much longer. Wars can be very expensive in many ways, and Russia is not even close to matching what the NATO/US alliance can throw at them. Your way of thinking is not how the world works.

Whatever, dude.
You seem to be on a tangent, and the topic of the discussion is the war in Ukraine.
Bil-labs and gain-of-function is something which occurs in a bunch of countries. and I’m pretty sure that that kind of research occurs in the U.S. and many countries in Europe and in China and many other places.
Advantage? Every country that has engaged in such research, which means, no real advantage to anyone.
Try staying on topic.

That is the blast radiusI stand corrected.
These things have a 4000 foot kill radius. Shoot and scoot might become a tad less effective.

B.S.!
A country with the wealth that you attribute to them would not be as poor as they are. But, maybe they are very poor economists over there. Poverty can be attained very easily, especially through socialism. Perhaps they need the riches of the mind that capitalism and the free-market brings. Go there and shoe them how to take advantage of their natural wealth. They have to be pretty dumb if they have so much natural wealth and don't how to take advantage of it all. Either that, or your imagination is playing tricks on you.

Let me apologize for you. I know it's very difficult concept for you to understand, but, try to wrap your head around the fact that, wars are very expensive, in many ways, and there is only so much that a country can put into a war before they feel defeated. And a country that is as poor as Russia is, would have been feeling the pain soon after starting the fight.
I'll put it into simple terms for you. Imagine that you want to buy a house and a yacht and a plane, and you ran out of money after your first purchase, that being the yacht. You would be left very far from achieving your goals, and would be left without a home and a plane. Would you still have enough to buy the house and the plane, or would you get real and stop reaching for that which is out of your reach and means. Entiende??? Capice???

Putin has had more than a little to say on the topic of US funded bio-labs in Ukraine, but you’ll have to look elsewhere than our EneMedia to find out what.
I wonder why....

I understand what you feel the goal is; I am suggesting the possibility that the larger goal — a goal which preciptated the encouragement of the (North Atlantic?) nations of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Albania, and Croatia to join NATO — might be a goal other than the immediate goal (as seen through a porthole).

The ASU-85 (Russian: Авиадесантная самоходная установка, АСУ-85, romanized: Aviadesantnaya Samokhodnaya Ustanovka, ASU-85 – airborne self-propelled mount) is a Soviet-designed airborne self-propelled gun of the Cold War era. From 1959, it began to replace the open-topped ASU-57 in service.[2] It was, in turn, replaced by the BMD-1 beginning in 1969.
