It would also be unfair to those of us who had great-grandfathers who fought for the Union to free the slaves.
The only “fair” thing to do is load the those who never picked cotton up on ships and planes and send them home to their beloved Africa. I had nothing to do with them supposedly picking cotton. They can KMA on Main Street and I’ll give them 15 minutes to draw a crowd. That will be my “reparations” for something they did nothing to deserve “reparations” for. They are Americans or Africans. They need to make up their tiny minds. Africans are now flooding into the evil, white supremacist America by the hundreds of thousands. It seems those already here should be paying us for the privilege to live have lived here, been educated here and many of them became multimillionaires here in this great country. They need to stop their crying and throwing tantrums and grow up.

um- black people were slave owners too- some had large estates with many black slaves- I haven’t looked it up, but im guessing there might even be asian and latinos who owned slaves too?

Since African American slavery ended nearly two centuries ago, and all slaves and slaveowners are dead, it's unfair to make anyone pay reparations.
I can understand why grifters who would benefit from the never-going-to-happen get exercised at public meetings in this topic.

Not sure if that is true about some of our recent Muslim immigrants from the Middle East and Northern Africa.
I believe CA is 40% Hispanic and 15% Asian, but that overwhelms the 5-6% that are black! And forget trying to get Hispanics to feel “White Guilt”! Forget making a lot of us whites feel it, as well!
My BIL’s parents came here from Poland after WW2. They had the clothes on their backs. They were poor - but working poor. He refuses to sign up for white guilt too!
