Former President Donald Trump on Thursday called the mother of Rachel Morin, a mother of five whom authorities say was murdered by an illegal immigrant.
Morin was killed while on a hiking trail in Maryland in August of last year. Earlier this week, authorities charged illegal immigrant Victor Antonio Martinez Hernandez, 23, with her death and rape.
Patty Morin, Rachel's mother, expressed appreciation for Trump's call.
"I am deeply touched by President Trump’s kindness and concern," Morin said, according to the New York Post. "He was genuine and truly wanted to know how our family was coping. He asked about Rachel and showed honest compassion for her untimely death."
"His words brought comfort to me during this very difficult time," she went on.
Hernandez entered the U.S. illegally in February of last year and allegedly committed a violent home invasion in Los Angeles one month later. His entry into the U.S. followed accusations that he killed a young woman in El Salvador.
Trump has campaigned heavily on immigration and highlighted the crimes committed by illegal immigrants who entered the U.S. through the southern border. He previously lamented the death of University of Georgia student Laken Riley, who was allegedly killed by an illegal immigrant from Venezuela.
"Joe Biden has no remorse, no regret, no empathy, no compassion, and worst of all, he has no intention of stopping the deadly invasion that stole precious Laken’s beautiful American life," Trump said at a March rally in Georgia. "What Joe Biden has done on our border is a crime against humanity, and the people of this nation, for which he will never be forgiven."

That rotten son of a bitch Biden murdered her daughter. Put her into a club she never wanted to be a member of.
Trump is a man of compassion.
Biden is a ....(This is a family website so I’ll withhold my true opinion)
It never even entered the mind of anyone in Biden’s administration that a sympathetic phone call would be appreciated in such a matter. Death of a drug-addict arresting arrest? Then yes, of course the President would call.
But the thought of a phone call to the mother of a murder victim just for PR purposes wouldn’t be considered in this instance even if the sympathy was faked. The left just doesn’t think that way.
I don't believe Biden has any empathy for anyone outside his immediate family and circle of friends. The victims of his policies mean nothing to him or his regime. As for PR, the last thing he wants is to draw attention to dead Americans as a direct result of his policies. What can he say? Thanks for your daughter's sacrifice for my mass immigration goals? He certainly wouldn't apologize.
It was the same with Obama. When that Muslim in the US Army massacred people at Ft. Hood, Obama didn’t go—he was just concerned that the incident might cause anti-Muslim sentiment. But former President George W. Bush went to Fort Hood on his own to meet with the survivors of the attack. For all his shortcomings in office, GWB had genuine empathy in cases like that.
Biden had George Floyd’s brother standing next to him at the “Juneteenth” event on June 10. I guess reminding blacks of the “murder” of George Floyd will be part of their campaign in the fall.
Supreme Court’s Immigration Rebuke Suggests Biden’s Border Order Is Unconstitutional

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 on Thursday that U.S. citizens do not have a constitutional right to guarantee their noncitizen spouse admittance into the country, something President Joe Biden tried to cement in his most recent executive order concerning the ongoing border invasion.
American Sandra Muñoz sued the federal government after her husband, Luis Asencio-Cordero, an MS-13 gang member, was denied a visa by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in 2015 due to “unlawful activity” the immigration officer suspected based on a gang affiliation tattoo he spotted on the El Salvador native during the interview.
Asencio-Cordero, a noncitizen, eventually “disavowed any gang membership” and, with Muñoz’s help, tried to appeal the visa case with the Department of State. The federal agency, however, agreed with USCIS’s decision, effectively asserting (along with the Supreme Court’s judgment Thursday) that a noncitizen like Asencio-Cordero has “no constitutional right to enter the United States.”
Muñoz claimed that this decision abridged her Fifth Amendment “liberty interest” and falsely construed her right to “fundamental right to marriage” as a “right to reside with her noncitizen spouse in the United States.”
The Ninth Circuit initially agreed that the Due Process Clause afforded Muñoz the right to a “facially legitimate and bona fide reason” for her husband’s denial. The high court, however, overturned this judgment.
“Muñoz’s claim to a procedural due process right in someone else’s legal proceeding would have unsettling collateral consequences,” the court wrote. “Her position would usher in a new strain of constitutional law — one that prevents the government from taking actions that ‘indirectly or incidentally’ burden a citizen’s legal rights.”
In the majority opinion, Justice Amy Coney Barrett noted that Muñoz ’s argument “fails at the threshold” because it does not prove “the right to bring her noncitizen spouse to the United States is...”
