The battle against homelessness in the Portland, Oregon, area reportedly came with a high cost in 2023, with most of the money going to temporary shelter, services, and housing placement.

ECOnorthwest’s analysis found in the counties of Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas, “local governments and nonprofits” shelled out $531 million for homeless interventions, Fox News reported on Thursday.

“The huge increase was driven in part by nearly $90 million in federal pandemic relief funds, as well as a regional homeless tax approved by voters in 2020, the report shows,” the outlet said.

Taxpayer money. Give your hard-earned money to NGOs who support this? Guilt tripped?

And has nothing to show for it, other than they probably attracted a lot of homeless with their policies.

Put them in jails and mental hospitals. Worked for many years until they released them all. Much cheaper and some of the mentally ill get treatment instead of dying horrible deaths on the streets.

SF and LA have been spending more than that for a decade or more. It just gets sucked up by the homeless industrial complex and never actually helps get anyone off the streets.

Remember the old signs at park entrances? “Do not feed the animals.”

This is because they forget how to take care of themselves if people do it for them.

Yup—they attract more homeless so they can spend more money so they can attract more homeless so they can spend more money...in an endless loop—until somebody who has actual power stands up and says the magic word....

No!

They aren’t feeding the homeless. They are feeding themselves. Big $$$$ in this NGO fraud while people, including veterans, still starve like dogs in the street.

Correction: the dogs receive better treatment.

The big winner here is the homelessness industry. Probably all graduates of liberal colleges. Get a real job.

There are plenty that don’t want to be “in the system” so they won’t bother.

Plan A was rejected: Hand out the money and the housing to each person.

Plan B: Spend $531 million including government bureaucracy and other expenses in the project.💸💸💸💸

On to internet for all Biden plan: Sorry, no one signed up; it’s only been since 2021, don’t rush it. $42.5 Billion plan is being worked on as we speak.💸💸💸💸

And EV charging ports:
Mar 26, 2024 — General Services Administration announces $25 million for electric vehicle charging ports as part of President Biden’s Investing in America .... 💸💸💸💸

Biden-Harris Administration Announces $623 Million in Grants to Continue Building Out Electric Vehicle Charging Network
Thursday, January 11, 2024💸💸💸💸

$7.5B for electric vehicle chargers. Built so far: Zero.
The sluggish rollout could undermine President Joe Biden’s reelection messaging promoting electric vehicles. Politico.

****************************

This is a true statement. A buddy of mine works for a big health care conglomerate in Portland.

His low end estimate, is there are at least 1000 “feral humans” operating in the Portland area at this time.

These people are irredeemable and after suffering injuries & getting medical treatment...... They just want to get back on the streets and get back to ‘drugging.’

They’re aggressive & angry, and will attack & the drop of a hat.
