Trump's J6 words weren't inflammatory.

Trump's base has for years been hardened upon the forge of unceasing, ever increasing outrages.

Biden's base rarely loses so they will rage at every outrage.

“Updated December 20, 2020”

https://news.yahoo.com/trump-promises-wild-protests-washington-165055313.html

The term “wild” as uttered by Trump was publicly known across the nation over two weeks before January 6th, 2021 according to leftist Business Insider & Yahoo.

“Several pro-Trump Republicans, however, have said they plan to disrupt the formal process, with Representative-elect Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia tweeting on Saturday: “On January 6th...I will OBJECT and REJECT the fraudulent electoral votes from several states across the country.’

Trump made statements that the American people had to a right to hear. That is protected under Amendment I.

Trump’s use of “go wild” is the critical issue.

For younger folks it would meaning yelling, screaming, waving signs vigorously and other actions that are non-violent and non-destructive.

Conservative folks behave in a conservative manner.

If I was the planner, I would have had the crowd yell:
Georgia - stolen
Arizona - stolen
Wisconsin - stolen
Pennsylvania - stolen
Michigan - stolen

Investigate - the nation will wait.

Older folks like me don’t go wild.

I’d love to see that POC** Eric Holder come to his own dangerous conclusion at the end of a piano wire noose.

** that’s “Piece Of Crap”, not “Person Of Color”.

None of this is Eric the Holder’s business. He needs to go back into the men’s room and resume his job as a “holder”. Damn black rasist.

Mr. Gun-runner Holder comes out from under his pile of manure. Had to resign when he was held in contempt by congress because he is truly contemptible.

Article I, Section 3, Clause 7:
Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.

President Trump was impeached but not convicted of the charge of insurrection. If he had been convicted he could have faced criminal prosecution. But this clause specifies when a president can be liable criminally: when he has been convicted by the Senate (requiring a 2/3 vote).

Apart from a conviction by the Senate, the president should constitutionally enjoy immunity from prosecution. This is how the Supreme Court should decide.

The president is unique in comparison to other offices from which a person might be removed by impeachment: The president has the power to pardon. He could even pardon himself. Couldn’t any presidents simply issue themselves a blanket pardon for any possible crimes they might have wittingly or unwittingly committed while in office?
