More companies are declaring bankruptcy and shutting down operations, citing inflation and high costs. Inflation and the economy remains a top issue among all voters, according to a recent The Center Square Voters' Voice Poll.
Retailers are closing nearly 3,200 stores this year, according to a recent analysis from CoreSight Research. The closures are a 24% increase from 2023.
U.S. drug stores and pharmacy closures led to 8 million square feet of shuttered retail space this year, the research company said. It also notes that retailers are losing inventory and customers due to retail theft. “Retail shrink” is closely connected to “organized retail crime,” it notes.
Out of the 3,200 being closed, the majority are being closed by roughly 30 retailers, with Family Dollar closing the most of over 600, according to the data, CBS News reported.

Last week I bet I read a half a dozen stories from all the usual news sites that explained to me that the economy was the best ever under the Biden administration and it was just lack of information and knowledge that made me think otherwise.
Some bias reporting in there. Family Dollar is also rebuilding stores and adding small markets with produceand meat. That doesn’t account for all 600 but a lot of them.
.........the dollar store I’ve become used to for buying basic stuff like diet coke, bread, butter, milk etc just remodeled, cleaned up the store dramatically, got all the merchandise put up (many isles were completely blocked with carts of merchandise because there were no stockers to put it up on the shelves) and so on. They added about 125’ of additional glass door type refrigerators and freezers.
Heck, it’s a pleasure to go in there now. And, it’s sort of funny because the store backs up to hundreds of million dollar houses in one of Texas’s biggest resorts so seeing bentleys and mercedes in the parking lot is a daily situation.
And home foreclosures are on par with 2010
The two main reasons for stores closing are inflation caused by Biden AND out of control theft in large hellhole cities - also caused by Biden.

The main reason that OBiden Administration is still calling the shots is because likewise corrupt Congress has scandalously refused to impeach and remove him from office.
In other words, Congress deserves blame for failed OBidenomics as much as OBiden does.
Since Congress can no longer be trusted to respect the Constitution, it is up to Democratic and Republican Trump supporters to effectively "impeach and remove" Congress in November, supporting hopeful Trump 47 with a new, Constitution-respecting Congress, not only so that he will not be a lame duck president from the first day of his second term, but will support him to quickly finish draining the swamp.

Yep. The GOP could have actually impeached Biden over several issues, one being the border, two being the student loan issue if they had wanted to do so.
Remember Trump was impeached for bringing Biden’s corruption (which led to Obama) to the attention of the public. Most in Congress were scared that any investigation by Trump would lead to them as well.
There is so much the GOP could have done to support Trump and conservatives during Trump’s presidency. Instead, they fought him just as hard on policy as the left did. They were happy to see that line of Ukraine investigation closed down.
Also, so many people blame Trump for his decisions during Covid, while forgetting that he had both parties, the media, the medical community, and “Mr. Science” himself putting all the pressure of the world’s continued existence, on his shoulders. He would have been impeached and actually convicted if he had pushed any harder against the machine. Look what they did, and continue to do, with his comments about disinfectant research and the cutting-edge research on that issue.
Thats ok, we know from listening to Nancy Pelosi that the unemployment checks they will be getting will help stimulate the economy.
