Absolutely makes sense. This nation is under attack from many sources, both internally & externally, as retaliation of trying to be or acting like, we are an empire who pushes around friends & foes alike, and it's only going to get worse.

That said, we played an active role in what we are now reaping, by paying little attention as to what are nation was doing, because we believed our leaders were righteous and were doing what was necessary to protect the citizens. So we continued on living our lives while paying little attention what they were doing to others. Not to make our citizens safer but to levitate their careers.
