Allison Huynh bought into Silicon Valley’s woke idealism.
The co-creator of Willow Garage, a company that designed robotics and AI systems that were sold to Google, Huynh helped to raise millions of dollars for Barack Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign. She and her husband at the time, early Google programmer Scott Hassan, helped organize elaborate fundraisers and dinners for tech bigwigs.
“My role was to bring in Silicon Valley people for the $50,000- and $100,000-per-plate dinners,” Huynh said. “[We] brought in [Google co-founders] Sergey [Brin], Larry [Page] and Eric [Schmidt]. Obama was a hopeful candidate who was outside of the system.”
She was so passionate about the left that, in 2005, she and Hassan bought a rocking chair that once belonged to Democratic icon John F. Kennedy for nearly $100,00 at auction.
In 2008, she acquired the Shepard Fairey mixed-media artwork that the iconic Obama “Hope” posters were based on, paying more than $1 million for the work on canvas.
Now, as President Biden’s term draws to a close, Huynh feels that she had been sold a bill of goods. “I think Biden has been out of touch,” she told The Post. “He’s asleep at the wheel.”
Exasperated by violent crime and illicit drug use in America, the 48-year-old Vietnamese immigrant, who helped build some of the world’s first e-commerce websites and once lived down the street from Steve Jobs in Silicon Valley, has done a total 180 when it comes to her politics.

100%. That being said, a lot of people that don’t know anything about politics heard the media hype and believed it. Sounds like this lady has woke up! I pray more of this happens!
A couple of years ago when I still looked relatively attractive, I attended a party that turned out to be hosted by a Democratic luminary. The walls were literally covered with signed photos of the couple with President Clinton, Hillary, and every Democrat whose name regularly hit the media. I was looking at the photos when the man came over to chat me up. With his wife sipping champagne and chatting just a few feet away, he propositioned me. It wasn’t subtle. I looked over at his wife, who surely must have heard this. He followed my gaze and said, “Oh, we have an open relationship.” I demurred and left shortly after.
Anytime I see some Democratic hanger-on in the press, I remember what they’re probably all like. So, she’s selling all of her signed photos. I wonder what she’ll replace them with because it’s unlikely any conservative will want to pair up with someone who wants an “open” relationship or otherwise lives the Democratic lifestyle.
BTw, these were happy pictures before the divorce.
I still find it hard to understand how “smart” people can be so fooled, for so long, creating Hell on Earth, and not understand human nature and simple cause and effect, for literal decades of their lives.
This lady encouraged a lot of real social destruction and has a lot of responsibility ahead of her to undo and restore what she helped wrought.
But I'm glad she sees some of her wrongs. I am hopeful she can stay sane for life, but, frankly, people will only know by her example, the rest of her life.
When you realize that “hope” was just “hype”.
She’s still a dolt if she thinks Biden is the problem. He may be sitting in the drivers seat but Obama is the one steering the car.
If she would have said something along the lines of “its obvious he’s not in charge etc....” then maybe i could believe she saw some light.
Obama wrote (Bill Ayers did) all about his evil intentions in his books.
Biden has been in public office fifty years. How are these idiot leftists so blind.
