Several weeks ago, I flew to Texas to visit my friend Mollie, who had left California in 2022. Whenever I told someone I was going to Texas, their first question was, “Are you moving out of California?”
How different from when I moved to California in 1977…
“I’m so jealous!” That was the reaction of family and friends when my husband and I announced that, after one year of marriage, we were leaving New York. It was a difficult decision because I was close to my parents, particularly my mother. For us, the primary reason was the weather. We did not enjoy humid summers or frozen winters and wanted to move before devoting years to our careers.
In our early 20s, relocating across the country felt like an exciting adventure, especially since California was still paradise with its snow-capped mountains and glistening beaches. From the streets of San Francisco to the glitter of Hollywood and from magical Disneyland to Old Town San Diego, almost everyone wanted to live or vacation in California.
Today, leaving California is part of the conversation. Almost every Californian knows someone who has left the state and others (including themselves) who are thinking about relocating. How fast can you say Texas, Florida, Idaho, Tennessee, South Carolina … It’s ABC as people want to live Anywhere But California due to lurid high taxes, escalating crime, the nation’s highest poverty rate, the influx of illegal migrants who are given freebies, plus an exploding homeless population, to name a few reasons to leave.

So, y’all I spent four wonderful days in beautiful Georgetown, still a conservative stronghold outside of Austin. But Austin’s liberal population is growing.

Btw, this pigeon character was on this site not long ago under a different moniker or handle. Doing the same exact thing, trying to convince everyone what a wonderful conservative place California is. Same MO. They've just recently signed up using another name.
Parties get elected because the other party screws up or voters get tired of them, and I guess that’s how Newsom got elected. What the Democrats did when they had power was to introduce the “jungle primary” system, so that even when they screw up or people get tired of them, they won’t be replaced by Republicans.
Oh, ok. yeah, he’s deluded. I follow the saving California Becahes on Facebook. A bunch of rich people near Venice and Santa Monica and Rancho PV, etc.....they hate what it’s become and don’t know what to do about it. John Kobalt on KFI talks about what a S#$%hole Southern Cal has become .....I think his show is number 1 rated listened to. People living there are prisoners on their own homes.....can’t go anywhere without fear of being attacked.....Then there’s this.....just out on daily mail.
Number 1 state people are fleeing?......yup...California and I don’t blame em:

Didn’t know that. When we lived in Simi Valley we listened to them all the time.
Yeah, sometimes we still listen via internet radio. It’s crazy in Southern California, including the rich areas. Nowhere is safe anymore. This pigeon guy is deluded.

He is a very well known re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-tread that LOVES Kalipornia and HATES Texas (more like jealous/envious).
Senator Ted Cruz is virtually tied in the polls with the latest rat challenger in Texas. The rat candidate is campaigning like a conservative except for abortion rights.
I pegged him back in the first half of April.

Your stories are a bit over the top…knock it off! You visit here? Do not live here? You need to check yourself FRiend. I am born and raised still living in the OC and what you described is way over the line. Not denying there are challenges with immigration and homeless, but my community has been moving them out if they try to camp. Same cr@ppola was going on in the 1990’s during the CLintoons.
I know you feel superior to those of us who stay and fight for our homes and communities…so here’s a big hug to you and your superior wisdom!
