Thanks to Cuba, Russia is a growing threat to the U.S. | Opinion
The Miami Herald via Yahoo ^ | June 13th, 2024 | Jaime Suchlicki

The current visit to Cuba and the Caribbean by a contingent of Russian naval war vessels and submarines indicates Russia’s growing displeasure with the U.S. military policy and support for Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested this week that Moscow could take asymmetrical steps if Western countries were to supply Ukraine with weapons that were then used on Russian soil.

In addition, these types of trips show support and solidarity for friendly countries and familiarize the crews with the ports and Caribbean waters. The Russians have been conducting these types of trips periodically.

For a second consecutive year, prominent Russian military and security leaders visited Cuba meeting with General Raul Castro and other Cuban officials. Included in the Russian delegation are Putin’s close ally Nikolai Patrushev, the head of the Kremlin strategic forces, and high intelligent officials. Before leaving for Nicaragua and Venezuela an article in Pravda discussing Patrushev’s visit emphasized that Havana discussed defense aspects with its Russian visitors.

“Armed with Russian missiles Cuba will be a symmetrical response to NATO’s expansion to the Russian threshold.”

Russian leader Vladimir Putin reaffirmed his military support to the Cuban regime through a series of agreements in June, during Cuba’s Prime Minister Manuel Marrero’s visit to Moscow.

Russia’s threat to the US is overwhelming and their victory is inevitable.

No shots need be fired.

They have enormous surface area, under which here and there oil can be found. The US has less surface area, under which here and there oil can be found. Their oil will run out last. Simply that. And before anyone goes wacko and talks about oil wells replenishing, first go get your checkbook and go buy some empty wells that have been Plugged-And-Abandoned. You should be able to get them nearly free. When you do, start pumping that replenished oil and become a billionaire.

Or not if they stay empty.

Putin has given speeches at Rosneft that make clear HE KNOWS ALL THIS. He knows Russian dominance is inevitable. He has no desire to do anything other than protect the inevitability. (Note the east border of Donbas is less than 100 miles from the oil cargo route of Volgograd (previously known as Stalingrad)).

*Ukraine is hemorrhaging the US too.*
Think Star Wars. Reagan outspent them. Couldn’t compete.

*I know I’m right it’s why the question was asked duh.*
Excuse me for taking your question seriously.

The failure of the Soviet Union took place because of two reasons, with the second 10X more important than the first.

1) The price of oil fell sharply.

2) The Soviet Central Bank was constrained in money creation to align with the 5 year plan of the Interior Ministry. When money became scarce, they were not empowered to print as Bernanke did with Quantitative Ease. This was an error in the banking officials not realizing money comes from nothingness and creation of it can be whimsical.

The Reagan and SDI perspective has always been a favorite GOP mantra, but it is simply not true. Central banks can create all the money they need domestically to do whatever they want — unless they are constrained from doing so by being too logical about it all.

The Russian Central Bank fixed that problem. They, like all Central Banks, have infinite money.

It's taken me a lifetime, but I've finally got it down.

Oh, I get it. It worked so well for Reagan against the Soviet Union, geriatric neocons have decided to do it to us now. Absolutely brilliant...

The price of helping Ukraine.

This is what happens when you play tough guy and poke a stick in the bear’s eye. Instead of negotiations you get escalation. What’s taking place in Cuba will likely become a significant Communist presence, which will also include Venezuela. And then there is Peru where the Chinese Communists have seemingly moved in to stay in a very big way, all on Biden’s watch. These actions register in real terms what it’s like living everyday next to adversaries who reside on your doorstep - major adversaries who are armed to the teeth with lethal weaponry. No longer will the Americas be free of a significant Communist presence.

Oh come on woman! We all know their way has failed everywhere it’s been tried. We’ve got the momentum. Think Argentina and El Salvador. The rest of South America will follow as they see the successes of the club members which they want no part of.

I don’t guarantee anything but we’re a roll just like Thatcher in ‘79, Reagan in ‘80 and Lech Walesa in ‘81. The Soviets were on a roll too. A Polish Pope didn’t hurt.

America's stupidity is the only threat to America.

If there are Ukes vacationing in Cuba, those ships wouldn’t last more than a week.

But you are correct, if we stuck to our founding principles, we would be just fine. But the Democrats have ditched them along with all the institutions they control.

Your link contains the musings of of former Costa Rican President and western progressive puppet Luis Guillermo Solis, whose biggest accomplishment seems to have been ‘championing’ LGBT and climate issues in a poor and overwhelmingly Catholic country.

Why would anyone care what this dopey liberal thinks about Russia or Nicaragua?

“It’s unusual to see this many lame duck psychopaths gathered in one place at the same time outside of a maximum-security prison, but here they are at the G7”

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

You say those 7 G7 leader are psychopaths because they have not invaded and annexed Russia? Is that what you meant?

And Putin is a wise man, because he has invaded and annexed other people’s countries (Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Crimea, etc...). Putin has also killed or severely injured 450.000 russian citizens on the killing fields of Ukraine.
Thus, Putin’s deep-state forever wars is killing an entire generation of Russians....
A wise man hm? Are you sure? Is that what you meant?
