MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that the security agreement signed between Ukraine and the United States is insignificant.

"In the first half of the year, Ukraine has signed a package of agreement with a number of European countries, now there is a similar document with the US… If there is a serious legal expertise of such an agreement, there will definitely arise a question: who and with which competences signed these documents. It will turn out that this all is a bluff: the treaty is insignificant, all the structure will crumble," Putin said at the meeting with leaders of the Russian foreign department.

Meanwhile, the West's campaign to isolate Russia has failed, the Russian president added.

It was the West that prepared and provoked the Ukrainian crisis, and now it is doing everything to ensure that the crisis continues, the Russian president said.

"The real masters of Ukraine are not the people, but the elites of the West," he added.

Russia doesn’t have too many friends unless you count Belarus. That’s it.

“Russia doesn’t have too many friends unless you count Belarus. That’s it.”

...and China, and India, and about all of Africa and South America and much of Asia, that’s it. (just see who was in St. Petersburg this week for confirmation)

And of course the so-called pledge not to expand NATO, which Russian apologists always cite, was not even a signed document.

Those nations trust Russia about as much as the Japanese trusted the Germans.

Putin’s an @$$ but he’s still right. Treaties need 2/3 Senate approval. The “agreement” is worthless.

The attendee countries’ leaders at the St Petersburg International Economics Forum numbered 68 in 2022, down from 120 in 2021. In 2023 the number rose to 75. I am unable to find the 2024 number. Participation/attendance from business numbered 17,000 in 2023, up from 14,000 in 2022.

The following thread (which has an indescipherable titled) contains my notes on a good video I watched in which Alexander Mercouris gave a wide overview of the real situation (US/NATO manuevering) in the Ukrainian war (the MSM has painted false 'narrtives' and optimisim). Based on the content of my notes, today's thread makes perfect sense.

Too bad Putin wasn’t invited. He has some proposals worthy of debate: https://asiatimes.com/2024/06/putins-ukraine-deal-talk-mostly-smoke-no-mirrors/

"Russia doesn’t have too many friends unless you count Belarus. That’s it."

Check to see what countries buy petroleum products and oil from Russia, and you'll find out just how many there really are. The last thing you want to do is piss off those countries that rely on Russia for their oil products.

"Trump wins-we drill and then watch those countries admit they never liked them."

That depends on the quantity they were receiveing from Russia prior to Joe stealing the White House.
