Doctors can refuse patients and refer them to other doctors. I do not know if it is a national issue or one in our State, but locally, MDs are not taking new patients. My daughter has to use an Emergent care facility as she cannot get a regular doctor. I have a VA Doctor out of VA and a local MD. VA is free, but I cannot leave my local doctor because he will not take me back once I leave. I am a legacy patient.

Until she moved, he was my daughter's doctor. When she wanted to discuss birth control, he gave her a referral. He does not prescribe birth control, and definitely, his group does not do abortions. Within their group, they have a women's health PA who deals with birth control.

A doctor can simply refer someone to a women's health PA or doctor and not deal with abortion.
