It’s because this Administration lifted the requirement for precincts to report crime. Used to 100% of all precincts were reporting. Now, it’s down to about 50% who report. That news came out about a month or so ago. First time I heard it anyway.

My wife was mercilessly treated by her police chief when the crime stats entered into the Idaho tracking system produced less crime than he needed for his budget. She was ejected from the entry position and her new supervisor proceeded to edit all of the thousands of entries she had made to take credit for her work. Now the cartoon character yelling, "Hah hah" walks on the scene. The numbers entered under my wife's new supervisor were also too low to support his budget. She also received the tongue lashing from the chief. My wife opted to just be a "dispatcher" and shed all of the special programs she had done for the department with no additional compensation. As she retired, the department lost their only Spillman certified administrator. My wife has zero regrets about finally retiring.
