Anti-establishment conservatives are gaining power in the Minnesota GOP
Star Tribune ^ | 6/7/24 | Ryan Faircloth

They blocked a staunchly conservative congresswoman from winning the Minnesota GOP's endorsement and propelled a former NBA player with a controversial past to a surprising endorsement victory.

And at last month's state GOP convention, anti-establishment conservatives ordered party leaders to write a letter of support for people charged in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The anti-establishment wing of Minnesota's Republican Party has notched a string of notable victories recently, to the dismay of traditional conservatives who worry the so-called "grassroots" activists are undermining the GOP's chances of winning in November. The defiant activists have rejected traditional candidates in favor of uncompromising newcomers whom they believe will challenge the status quo.

"I think there's a lot of people who are upset with just kind of doing the same old, same old, over and over again, like we've been doing for the past decade," said former GOP gubernatorial candidate Mike Murphy, who's aligned with the grassroots activists. "It's definitely time to change that."

The only negative I can think of is the establishment republicans will switch over to the democrat party and drop the rino facade. You know, like when Gays come out of the closet.

They do have money and that will be missed but the future of the country depends on a patriot populist uprising, whether conservative or liberal. Are there any liberal patriots left? I guess time will tell.

America, love it or leave it isn’t just a saying.

Ryan Faircloth doesn’t like Royce White.

That must mean Ryan Faircloth is a racist.

That is NOT a negative. For decades, RINO traitors have been destroying the party from within.

Thanks to MAGA, these embedded spies have outed themselves, and it they were to switch over to (D) then they could no longer have any influence over the republican party from within.

This is why they stay republicans. They can do so much more damage from within.

Well, now, there is "winning", and there is winning, one is but of a small fiefdom within the party structure, and the other is of elections and important decisions.

It has been so long since Minnesota had much in the way of conservative MAGA-type Republicans, the phenomenon had been almost forgotten there. Minnesota may yet prove to be a potential swing state in November.

Country club republicans that treat party membership like the Rotary club or the Chamber of Commerce and who don’t care about values are losing out to activists that want to win so that they can change things. Folks are tired of the grand coalition between establishment democrats and establishment republicans.

For anyone interested, go to Wikipedia and type in Minnesota 2016 Presidential Election or 2020 Presidential Election and you'll see just how red the rest of the state is. Same for congressional races.

The trouble with that visual is population. There's more moonbats in the MSP metro area.

But something has to be done in this state (I'm a resident) or we will definitely go down the California toilet flush. We're on our way, but the flapper CAN be sealed before the flush is complete.

Re “ anti-establishment conservatives”…

Chuckle… I believe the correct term is “Americans” … instead of Uniparty cucks.

“The defiant activists have rejected traditional candidates in favor of uncompromising newcomers whom they believe will challenge the status quo.”

When conservatives do this, it’s cause of deep concern. When radical democrats do it, it’s a cause for celebration according to the Star Tribune. See the reaction to the ‘Squad’ for example.

I live in The Peoples Republic of Minnesota and the state GOP has in my opinion been a total joke. They have run awful campaigns with mediocre candidates and allowed the DFL (Democrat Farmer Labor Party…the local moniker for Democrats who are as socialist as their name) to gain control of the Legislature and Governorship. The DFL majority has gone on an orgy of spending, new taxes and implementing a radical agenda. Minnesota is now in the top five highest tax states and has allowed abortion up to birth and likely beyond to be the law and soon to be enshrined in the State Constitution. It is time something is done to shake up the party.

If the new Antis can win in November, great. If there ends up being more Democrats in power, then it’s just virtue signaling.

“Mike Murphy, who’s aligned with the grassroots activists.”
Ok that is a really bad sign.
