Being way up north on the DMZ in Vietnam, we couldn’t get Adrian Cronauer on our little transistor radios very well. But good old Hanoi Hannah came through loud and clear. She was far more entertaining with her commie propaganda than was Cronauer with his ego. She also played better music. Nov 66 until the following summer. She played Respect by Aretha Franklin just for us. Or so she said. That was right after a major shootemup on Route 9. We all took it as a compliment, though. We took about 15 kias. It was my next-to-last firefight before I came home.

I have asked Vietnam vets if they ever listened to North Vietnamese radio. They told me you could only get it if you were way up north, near the DMZ.
