The judge presiding over former President Trump’s New York criminal trial notified his defense team on Friday of a comment on the court's public Facebook page that implies one of the jurors discussed the guilty verdict ahead of time.

The profile for "Michael Anderson" has little publicly available information, but the user identifies himself as a "Transabled & professional sh-- poster."
A Trump campaign official told Fox News Digital they are "investigating the matter."
Al Baker, state OCA spokesperson, said Friday that "as appropriate, the Court informed the parties once it learned of this online content."

I don’t think it would have been public this much so far if the cousin on the jury didn’t exist.
If this is really the douche that posted it, I don’t think he had parents, let alone a cousin or friends. I hope he does have a cousin but cover me skeptical that anyone in the family talks to him.
A mistrial would get the Dems out of this mess. It would also mean they could bring Trump to trial again later if the election starts to look tight.

Merchan had no choice. HE was notified by the NY Supreme Court of the posting. They all know the implications.

This jury misconduct should cause a mistrial. I wonder if Fox is covering it?
Second, The NY Supreme Court would not have bothered contacting Merchan without having first verified the relationship of the poster and the juror, AND verifying there was contact between the two before the post.
The verdict will be tossed and I don't see Merchan getting another bite at the apple in time to get a conviction before the election.
How can you seat a jury that can pretend they haven't been tainted by pre-trial publicity?

The letter at this post’s link was from Merchan to NY attorney Blanche & NY Assistant DA Steinglass, saying that post by Anderson had been posted to the Unified Court System Facebook page.
Is there a link to where the NY Supreme Court told Merchan about the post?
