Nancy Mace first of McCarthy’s ousters to face primary challenge
Washington Examiner ^ | June 6, 2024 2:21 pm | Cami Mondeaux

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) is facing a tough primary challenge on Tuesday, making her the first of the eight Republicans who voted to oust former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to fight for her reelection while the former GOP leader actively works against her.

Mace will compete against Catherine Templeton for the GOP nomination for South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District. The race has garnered widespread attention as Mace has faced opposition from some members of her own party, including McCarthy, who has set out on a revenge tour of sorts against the hard-line conservatives responsible for his ouster.

While McCarthy has not explicitly endorsed Mace’s challenger, he has gotten involved with raising money for Templeton’s campaign to boost her candidacy. Those efforts have prompted Mace to hit out against McCarthy, accusing the former speaker of tearing apart the Republican Party by getting involved with primary races.

“Kevin McCarthy has called donors of mine and asked them directly to donate to my opponent Catherine Templeton,” Mace said during a Post and Courier event last month. “That is what he’s doing. I’m not the only person that he’s targeting. There are eight of us, and it’s sickening to see how much money he’s spending behind all these lies.”

Mace is the first of the eight Republicans who booted McCarthy to face a primary this year. Five of the others — Reps. Bob Good (R-VA), Tim Burchett (R-TN), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), and Eli Crane (R-AZ) — will face their own primaries later this year. The remaining two — Reps. Matt Rosendale (R-MT) and Ken Buck (R-CO), who are not running for reelection and have already stepped down from office.\

Come on people use your heads. Nancy Mace is tolerable.

She will succeed either Scott or Linda in the senate. Both of them are bored in the with their jobs.

That a worm like Kevin McCarthy could have ever risen to be the Republican leader in the House says a lot about what is wrong with this party. (And of course the Turtle in the Senate.) No wonder so little is accomplished when the Repukes are in power.

I’ve got as much use for a rino as I do with used TP.

None at all.

I never said I was on McCarthy’s side.

All I said is how much I detest Mace. Read what I actually wrote.

Sundance at CTH flagged the GOPe undermining Arrington from way back.

Watching this is like watching the politics of a One Party State, there are obvious rivalries and divisions but it is unclear to outsiders what is really going on.

She’s the genius who told a bunch of evangelicals at the national prayer breakfast that she’d feared being late because she was busy screwing her commie boyfriend

Donald Trump cheated on his wife. Oh, he’s on his third wife.

Tell me again, WC_R, why we *must* vote for Mace. Personally, I don’t care who she screws. What I care about that she shows up at a religious event and pretends to be something they are not.

I say, find someone else than who KM is pushing. But don’t support NM. She ain’t worth it.

Did he show up at a prayer breakfast and say “I was almost late. I was busy screwing my mistress”? It’s not a matter of behavior, though I don’t like either person’s activities. It’s a matter of being tactful, especially when you represent yourself as holding conservative values. It’d
Be ok except it’s far from the only stupid thing she’s ever said

It’s a matter of being tactful, especially when you represent yourself as holding conservative values.

No one cares about your personal life.

Donald Trump's personal life is messy.

So what?

The only thing that matters is the Constitution.

If you have a mistress or two, more power to you.

“For what it’s worth, some of the folks who live down here full time say that Mace’s turn rightward was concurrent with her ditching her staff, who reportedly were acolytes of McCarthy.”

That may be true but blaming the staff seems politically convenient IMO.

Some politicians improve their conservative ratings prior to seeking a higher office. It’s obvious that she would like to replace Lindsey Graham or Tim Scott.

At least she’s done something to shake it up. All that McCarthy’s disciples will do is rip us off and betray us even more..

Pray the submissive gay away my brother!

She should have never won the last time.

SC is Trump Country except for the scum in the state and local political machine. How Arrington didn’t win is all about them using Democrats to crossover.

I have family living on the coast. I challenge anyone down there to say something nice about Graham. I’m sure some of the country club republicans on Hilton Head or in Charleston, but that’s about it.

Sadly, the state is being invaded by northern democrats, the locals despise them but the state and county clowns can’t say NO to over development

On a more substantive note, Nancy's got a decent rack, and like Sinema, likes to show em off. Nothing wrong with that.

And we should recognize her achievements as a legislator...for example, Nancy was awarded the "Milkers Of The Year Award" in 2022 for best rack in Congress!
