One of Joe Biden’s judicial nominees doesn’t understand basic science that most children learn in Middle School.
Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn was unable to answer a simple question about the basic scientific fact that chromosomes determine the sex of a human being at conception. Bidne nominated Netburn to serve as a federal judge for the Southern District of New York.
“Is it possible to determine a person’s sex by only analyzing their chromosomes?” pro-life South Carolina Lindsey Graham asked.
“I have never studied biology and therefore I am unqualified to answer this question,” Judge Netburn said.
As The Washington Times reports, the answer had ramifications:
Republican senators quizzed Judge Netburn over her decision to transfer a biological male child sex abuser to a female prison after the inmate decided to identify as a woman.
Her decision to move the prisoner conflicted with the recommendation from the Bureau of Prisons.
The inmate had been convicted of raping two children: a 17-year-old girl and a nine-year-old boy. The inmate was also convicted of distributing child sex abuse material.
Judge Netburn has been a magistrate judge for more than a decade.
As pro-life advocates know, science has confirmed for hundreds of years that chromosomes determine one’s sex.

The human nature of the human being from conception to old age is not a metaphysical contention; it is plain experimental evidence.”

simply hire a biologist who knows and rule accordingly
How can anyone attend high school and not take basic science which is taught in 9th &10th grades.

Bet she doesn’t know much about gravity either, not having had a physics class.
Why do we put up with this crap? If I were on the committee questioning her, I would have announced then and there that she had lost my vote, and that I would work OT to see that she wasn’t confirmed.
That’s what I was thinking. How do you get through high school without studying some biology? If she’s under oath, her answer seems like perjury.
My son, formerly a Christian youth leader, was asked by a girl if she could go on the boy’s overnight retreat.
“Yes you can - if you have an XY chromosome.”
Shortly after that retreat the church leadership told him that the girl must be included on the boy’s retreats.
My son solved that problem by having all coed events.
Then resigned months later when found a better job.
Again, she knows the answer is biological.
She didn’t say “I didn’t study psychology”
Smartassery, because that is exactly what her answer was, should be automatic permanent disqualification from the whole process

We have to translate from the libspeak. What the judge is actually saying is, “I’m not sure I’m current on the Approved Terminology, which changes faster than anyone can keep up, so I am defaulting to Approved Evasion 1.”
Biology is a required Undergrad class.
It’s also required for high school.

The order from smallest to largest is DNA, gene, chromosome. A chromosome is composed of double-stranded DNA molecules, which have four different types based on their bases attached.
